Job Description:

Position: Senior Associate (*New York, NY and various unanticipated

worksites throughout the U.S.)

Duties: Perform data analytics for the Life Products and Service Technology

Group. Provide advanced technical skills and leadership in the design,

development, control, and use of business reporting and analytic tools, as

well as annalistic solutions. Support the full cycle of requirements

gathering, analysis, design, coding, testing, training, and documentation

for New York Life's Insurance Groups Data Business Intelligence (BI).

Reactively investigate opportunities to increase the value of the BI

solutions as well as recommend new technologies to aid in decision making.

Design and build Data and Analytic solutions to support business data

evaluation and decision making. Design, develop, and maintain reports

using Business Objects Universes and reports, as well as dashboards using

performance points. Develop customized BI tools using JavaScript. Work

with the Data Warehouse Architect to ensure appropriate data is available

to support BI needs. Translate user requirements into BI technical

architecture vision and implementation plans. Define policies, procedures,

and governance for BI solutions and ensure they are aligned with overall

strategy. Coordinate and support the development efforts of technical and

corporate staff with respect to performance and tuning of BI applications

in conjunction with Enterprise technology, platform installations, and

upgrades.

Requirements: Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related

field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus four (4) years

of experience performing data warehousing and business intelligence

software development; or a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience as

stated above.

Also requires: (1) Demonstrated expertise performing data warehousing and

data modeling using Ralph Kimball, building Star Schema, and utilizing

ERwin data modeling tool; (2) Demonstrated expertise interfacing with

business customers to analyze reporting requirements, identify key metrics,

and build out ETL functionality, as well as training customer’s data team

to run future reports utilizing ETL tools such as SAP Business Objects Data

Integrator /Data Services and Informatica, in Oracle, PL/SQL and SQL Server

environments; (3)Demonstrated expertise designing and creating presentation

layers using interactive models to present analytical findings to business

utilizing Business Objects Universe Designer and Web Intelligence; (4)

Demonstrated expertise participating in all phases of the software

development lifecycle, and coordinating development with release management

and data architect teams; and, 5) Demonstrated expertise utilizing

knowledge of current tools and technologies regarding Big Data, including

MongoDB or Cloud Infrastructure.
