Job Description:

Will perform critical monitoring as well as incident/problem management

functions for Guardian's production database operation which runs on UDB

and DB2. Will provide operational support for Guardian's production, User

Acceptance Testing (UAT) and test environments, lead the development of

architectural proposals, define standards and best practices, and

collaborate on decisions regarding the strategic direction of technology

management in the database space. Will manage complex project assignments

and represent the ITS team in all dialogue and decisions regarding the

deployment and management of database environments and will define

operational best practices.

Education and Experience Required:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a

related field (or equivalent foreign education) and 3 years’ experience in

the job offered or 3 years’ experience in database administration.

OR, IN THE ALTERNATIVE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or

a related field (or equivalent foreign education) and 5 years’ experience

in the job offered or 5 years’ experience in database administration.

Special Requirements:

1) Demonstrated use and implementation with Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)

for Universal Database (UDB);

2) Demonstrated understanding of Siebel Application Database for tuning and

implementation;

3) Demonstrated knowledge of UNIX, Z/OS, Windows O/S, and scripting.

4) Demonstrated expertise with Advanced SQL language programming.
