Job Description
Analyzes, implements, monitors, and oversees all aspects of
technical training, plant operations and refueling. Responsible for
the proper daily operations of the plant and support equipment,
ensuring proper maintenance of plant and support equipment, and
training of naval and civilian personnel on both theoretical and
operational aspects of nuclear plant operations utilizing reactors
and state-of-the-art simulators or directs personnel during
refueling operations as applicable. Ensures safe operation by
providing on-shift engineering and accident assessment expertise
and advisory technical support in the areas of thermal hydraulics,
reactor engineering and plant analysis. Conducts shutdown and
start-up activities and in the event of an emergency, implements
established emergency procedures. Requires applicable
qualifications and continued advanced technical training and
refueling or plant qualifications.
All positions at the Kesselring Site includes participation in the
Site's Emergency Response Organization.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in
engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant
experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or
university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of
relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor
Part I qualified; or EDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in
the Nuclear Operations Program; or 3 years SRE qualified and Water
Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel
and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); or SRE qualified and 6
years of experience.
Currently or previously qualified Engineering Officer of the Watch
at any Prototype.

Pay Range
$91,500 - $143,000 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned
