JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting in reviewing, evaluating and making recommendations for the correction and/or improvement of internal, operational and management control systems and organizational unit performance. The nature of this position requires inside contact with all levels of company employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists in planning work on assigned segments (pension or health claims) of the audit.

Assists in determining records or activities to analyze the extent of tests to apply and the working papers to prepare.

Recommends the means of obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating evidentiary data.

Reviews transactions, documents, records, reports, methods of accuracy and effectiveness.

Prepares acceptable working papers that record and summarize data on the assigned audit segment.

Holds preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with operating personnel to verify and to obtain explanations of and reasons for each apparent deficiency.

Reports audit findings on the results of the review of the assigned segments of the audit and makes recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions, improvements in operations and reduction in costs.

Drafts reports and follows up the correction of errors found in audits.

Assists in the performance of special reviews at the request of management.

Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.

2 years relevant work experience in an audit function/environment preferred.

Excellent analytical skills required. Strong attention-to-detail.

Excellent computer skills in Word and Excel a must. Knowledge of Access a plus.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Solid interpersonal skills. Ability to interact and work effectively with all levels of staff.

Self-motivated with ability to work under minimal supervision.
