Human Resources:

Human Resources is responsible for recruiting and hiring employees in the Americas, administering health and welfare benefits, managing the retirement benefits program, training, performance management, and employee relations.

Summary:

Position will be part of the team that administers and manages the day to day activities of Mizuho's benefits programs - inclusive of health and risk insurances, voluntary benefits, retirement plans and wellness programs. This position interfaces with plan vendors, the HR generalist team, Payroll, and other internal departments to provide analysis for all benefits programs in support of Mizuho's goals and initiatives. Provide customer service to employees regarding interpretation of plan provisions. Serve as lead project manager on select projects.

  • Manage day to day administration of all benefits and leaves (LOA/STD/LTD/FMLA), maintaining eligibility and changes
  • Provide guidance to Mizuho retirees initiating pension and retiree medical benefits
  • Reconciliation and payment of vendor invoices
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations that impact benefit plans
  • Facilitate annual enrollment process and communications, including implementation of recommended benefit plan and vendor changes/review
  • Preparation of creative benefit communications to enhance understanding and utilization of certain benefit programs (Total Rewards, Wellness, Retirement Savings)
  • Coordinate with vendors to develop and recommend wellness campaigns and challenges
  • Work closely with payroll to ensure benefit deductions and pay leaves are processed accurately
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring data integrity between our HRIS system (Workday) and all carriers
  • Ability to organize information required for all nondiscrimination testing, 5500 preparation, SARs, Audits, etc.
  • Perform plan audits, required tax filings, non-discrimination testing, compliance review (Health Care Reform)
  • Involvement with annual plan renewals, and open enrollment - medical, Rx, stop loss ins., vision, dental
  • Manage day to day administration of the retirement plans - enrollments, changes, questions, etc.

    Support Retirement Plans Analysis:

    • Pension Plan Analysis, funding, valuations, financials, disclosures, participant calculations
    • Retirement Plans - Investment/fee review, required participant disclosures, benchmarking/trends, summary plan description updates
    • Assist in development of retirement plan committee materials

      Qualifications:

      • Extensive knowledge of disability & leave programs
      • 5+ years of corporate benefits administration experience
      • Strong Analytical Skill - Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
      • Skilled at researching, and analyzing data
      • Able to work with a variety of individuals at all levels of management.
      • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a timely manner
      • Detail orientated with strong organizational skill
      • 401(k) experience with defined benefit pension plans is a plus
      • Workday experience is a plus
      • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
