Senior Director of Data and Analytics, Institutional Reporting Core (Senior Director), Data & Analytics Empower Every New Yorker - Without Exception - to Live the Healthiest Life Possible NYC Health + Hospitals is the largest public health care system in the United States. Job Description Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Director is responsible for the delivery of reporting and analytics services offered through the one of four cores under the analytics center of excellence (ACE): Institutional Reporting, Financial Sustainability, Clinical Excellence, Patient Access and Experience. The overall goal of the head of data analytics is to offer stakeholders, for the core domain they represent, actionable dashboard and reports and analytics services to help them plan, perform, monitor and improve their work. The data and analytics industry methods and tools remain fluid and therefore require that the head of data and analytics remain current on emerging industry trends and become familiar with new tools and paradigms in order to perform their work optimally. The Senior Director will work with system executive and management teams as well as complimentary core peers to directly provide data related solutions, improve service delivery and introduce new offerings that better meet the needs of the system. In addition, this leader will directly influence the tools, techniques and internal processes that are utilized to advance the internal analytic capabilities. They will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of analytic engagements and projects that are aligned with their Core. Oversees the performance of assigned staff including evaluating their performance against established performance measures; reviews and authorizes time off, overtime and other non-productive/productive time in accordance with time and leave procedures. Directs, coordinates and evaluates operations of Institutional Reporting core team. Assists in the establishment of programs and policies reflecting the philosophy and objectives of the Analytics Division. Attends staff meetings and reviews budget submissions. Performs other confidential tasks as directed by the Vice President. Minimum Qualifications A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration or an approved related program and seven years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and interorganizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or,-- A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and interorganizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or, A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Department Preferences Knowledgeable in: Strong Working knowledge and familiarity with SQL, SAS, Tableau, Epic reporting tools or other data tools and concepts. Preferred Skills: Effective communication skills with executive level stake holders. Years of Experience: Six or more years of experience in data and analytics related work. (Eight years of progressively responsible experience working in one or more of the following settings; hospitals,--clinics, health insurance providers or other health related industry.)
