This group is fast-growing and we are eager for you to be part of this growth! The Senior Manager position for the Accelerate Team will play a key role in serving our clients by handling their internal accounting needs. This position will serve as a high level accounting role for customers across a variety of industries, geographies and in various stages of their business life cycle. In addition, this role will advise and mentor team members, as well as perform technical accounting review of highly complex workpapers. Excellent leadership, a desire to teach others technical skills, and strong communications skills are crucial for this role.-- Responsibilities:

  • Manages customer relationships by monitoring customer needs and building value into professional service
  • Actively handles day-to-day accounting needs for customer by overseeing engagement teams that function as customer's accounting department
  • Serves as a key point of contact on day-to-day accounting matters for the customer
  • Utilizes technology to properly account for all accounting transactions for the customer in real-time
  • Perform technical accounting review of highly complex workpapers and overall quality and accuracy of all workpapers
  • Provide tactical accounting guidance to the customer and engagement team
  • Review tax basis and GAAP compilation reports as well as accounting work product prepared by team for accuracy and compliance with reporting standards
  • Works closely with customer to provide advisory services
  • Responsible for communicating month-end results to customers based on what the customer values
  • Prepares reports including monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, and other ad hoc reports specific to engagement details
  • Makes recommendations on how to streamline processes
  • Provides feedback in order to develop the Elliott Davis Accelerate practice and team members
  • Provides coaching and technical training for staff
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to introduce other Elliott Davis service lines to customers
  • Responsible for customer invoicing on assigned engagements
  • Participate in business development with existing customers and their needs.
  • Collaborate with tax department to drive advisory services for new and existing clients as well as continually improve workflow and collaboration between the functions
  • Attend client, recruiting and/or networking functions within local market as appropriate
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis; providing expert financial perspective; proficient in spreadsheet design to facilitate complex analysis; and instrumental in helping to assess risk, analyze efficiency, and inform business decisions made by the customer
  • Demonstrating an on-going commitment to continuous improvement by implementing process enhancements that improve the quality of engagement deliverables and/or the efficiency and/or effectiveness of the engagements
  • Leading and/or participating in special projects and activities as assigned Requirements:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • A seasoned professional with a blend of 10+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate, or non-profit accounting roles
    • A strong understanding of financial statements and general ledger accounting
    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience supervising and training team members The ability to:
      • work quickly and accurately with significant attention to detail
      • work both independently and collaboratively with a team
      • learn about our firm's service offerings to identify areas our clients have needs and how we can support those needs
      • The ability to take full ownership of customer deadlines and needs, including working necessary hours to meet customer deadlines
      • CPA or CMA certification-- Preferred Qualifications:
        • Familiarity with multiple commercial accounting software packages including Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, SAGE, etc., as well as, expertise within QuickBooks and excellent Excel skills
        • A proven track record of handling high volume of deadlines and deliverables--
