Job Overview: The LATAM Local ICG Product Risk and Control Lead will be responsible for supporting the ICG Business Products (Markets and Security Services, Banking and Capital Markets Advisory, Citi Private Bank, Treasury and Trade Solutions, Citi Commercial Bank) and their overall Risk and Control Framework within Latin America. He/she will lead the in-country ICG Risk and Control officers for the region, reporting to the ICG Business Risk Executive and matrixed to the LATAM Controls Head.The LATAM Local ICG Product Risk and Control Lead will be responsible for the proactive monitoring of the Business control environment, anticipating risk and control issues while working closely with the business aligned in-country ICG Risk and Control officers and LATAM Controls Head. The Lead will be responsible for establishment, maintenance and evolution of the ICG Business Products Risk and Control environment across the region through an effective governance framework and other business aligned control initiatives. He/she will work with the regional ICG Business Product Heads, Global ICG Risk Executive, and the LATAM Controls Head in the design and embedding of appropriate framework enhancements in the countries, clusters and region ensuring compliance with corporate policies, procedures, laws and regulations.--This role requires close collaboration with local, regional, and global internal partners in the first, second and third lines of defense, as well as regulators and other stakeholders on a variety of initiatives.Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate key risk and control remediation initiatives across the LATAM ICG Business Products
  • Responsible for governance and risk oversight of the MCA activities related to the LATAM ICG Business Product lines AUs
  • Partner with the geographic franchise aligned Risk and Control Officers
  • Lead the design and execution of a plan to implement product aligned control framework and best practices in the LATAM ICG Business Products
  • Escalate relevant matters to management and drive implementation of agreed resolution strategy
  • Collaborate with internal partners and influence the strategic direction of initiatives
  • Handle complex projects independently. Highly organized with a capability of working with a large number of regional and global teams
  • Resolve day-day project issues and conflicting workload priorities
  • Report project statuses, next steps and issues / risks to stakeholders and sponsors
  • Develop and analyze key metrics to monitor and drive the governance and control agenda
  • Promote best in class risk can control management culture across the LATAM ICG Business Products
  • Represent the LATAM ICG Business Products in relevant forums and initiatives
  • Drive embedding of the LATAM ICG Business Products risk and control directives/guidance
  • Conduct monitoring, review, and oversight of LATAM ICG Business Products Compliance, Operational, and other non-financial Risks
  • Drive consistency within the vertical across jurisdictions
  • Lead, coordinate, execute LATAM ICG Business Products R&C activities (Issue Management, Regulatory Change Management, 2nd/3rd LoD/regulatory reviews)Required Skills
    • The ideal candidate will be a take charge individual with excellent interpersonal skills, and operational and analytical abilities
    • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with counterparts in different areas of the organization, working across geographies and functions
    • Ability to manage through influence (e.g. management in the absence of reporting lines or with matrix reporting)
    • Ability to lead and drive controls across the products
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization
    • Quick learner, team oriented with strong organizational, project management and presentation skills
    • Ability to prioritize and drive results in a deadline driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and complete accuracy
    • He/she should be a subject matter expert on Compliance, Audit, Controls and Corporate Information Security policies and standards
    • Capacity to proactively anticipate, identify, and resolve problems
    • Desire to drive projects from inception or assignment through execution
    • Ability to present internally and externally to senior executives
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and manage concurrent projects and deliverables, under tight deadlines to achieve deliverables according to the business requirements
    • Self-starter who can work independently and with an appetite for challenging assignmentsQualifications
      • 10 years+ experience in the Financial Services Industry
      • Graduate degree, BS or--concentration--in Business--Administration, Legal and/or--Finance. MBA--a plus
      • Leadership skills including ability to work effectively and drive results with a virtual global team
      • Up to date understanding of key risk and control concepts, tools and trends relating to risk identification, rating and prioritization, mitigation and reporting
      • Knowledge of the U.S. and/or Latin American regulatory environment
      • Fluent--in Spanish and Portuguese--a plus
      • Prior work experience in operational risk, compliance or operations
      • Prior work experience in the Latin America region a plus
      • Risk-based thinking and an analytical mindset
      • Strong data analytical skills supported by appropriate technical skills
      • Proficient in MS Suite applications
      • Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills
