Job Purpose The role holder is responsible for operations personnel in order to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and National Grid requirements. At the higher levels this role will translate functional policy by managing day to day operations to drive greater efficiencies and performance within their own team and National Grid. To lead and provide direction to the team and ensure understanding of interactions between different projects in a portfolio. Key Accountabilities -- Develop and lead process improvement efforts by identifying new business improvement opportunities-- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends for the Restoration Department-- Develop KPI--s-- Support the development and implementation of business strategies and tactics-- Develop efficiency reporting-- Lead the design of analyses in the development of business control policies-- Conduct process improvement studies -- Collaborate and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses-- Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, scalable, and quantifiable business process improvements. Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data. -- Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Determines how new information technologies can support re-designing business processes.-- Gathers historical cost data on such activities as material purchases, labor, equipment depreciation, repairs, assembly, operating expenses, etc. Forecasts expenses for construction work/projects. Prepares reports that compare budgets with actual expenses. -- Coordinates internal and external audits from initiation to final findings closeouts. -- Oversees strong internal controls and documentation of contract invoices and reports.-- Maintains official records and oversees record retention program.-- Provides relevant departmental information as requested. Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding and analytical proficiency of maintaining files and logs, plot graphs, knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, composition and business writing.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years-- of related experience in the areas of business operations, process improvement, statistical analysis, budgeting, finance, and/or accounting experience. Experience with change management and implementing process improvement plans preferred. Experience managing or supporting projects.
  • Bachelor--s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
