POSITION SUMMARY : Reporting to our Director Accounting - Seaport, you will perform various accounting functions for our multi-unit restaurant group. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Assists with timely and accurate financial reporting as well as internal and external audits. Responsible for achieving compliance with applicable regulations and accounting principles. Raise accounting issues and coordinate with Accounting team to drive consistency across process and controls. Provide meaningful commentary on monthly results and prepare variance analysis. Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner. Manage relationship with 3rd party management companies. Perform and review monthly reconciliations for several general ledger accounts. Correspond with vendors and federal/state agencies as needed. Assist with year-end audit requests and other ad-hoc assignments as needed. Provide leadership and guidance for junior accountants. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS : Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA or CA preferred, but not required. Minimum 5-8 years professional accounting experience. A basic understanding of GAAP and/or Financial Statement presentation. Experience in supporting Accounting close processes. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, point of sale systems, JD Edwards general ledger or comparable ERP system. Skilled in interpreting customer requirements and proactively turning them into solutions. A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail. Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, work with little supervision and attention to detail. Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities. Ability to interact and work collaboratively with business units, executives and staff. Proficient with financial analytical reporting tools. Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio.
