Job Title: Supervisor Social Work

Roles & Responsibilities:

Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center.
Clinical/Technical/Service - Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/ technical/service/administrative task:
Provide clinical supervision on evidence based interventions for working with the most seriously emotionally disturbed outpatient children living in Manhattan.
Ensures that Health Home Program is in compliance with the policies/procedures of the Hospital Center, the Department of Psychiatry, and all the regulatory agencies, coordinates audits/survey preparation, follow up as required in order to provide corrective action if necessary.
Works with hospital team to help prevent hospital admissions and readmissions safely.
Oversees the maintenance of systems to monitor patient care documentation, and ensures its timeliness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Attend Elevated Safety Risk conferences for children in program, as needed.
Evaluates and monitors employee's performance according to Hospital Center guidelines.
Ensures that the employee performance problems are addressed in accordance with the Hospital Center and departmental policies/procedures and union contracts.
Identifies staff training and educational needs and provides in-service education to meet those needs.
Responsible for carrying out Quality improvement Activities in the Health Home Program.
Responsible for compliance with NYS Office of Mental Health regulatory standards and the Department of Health.
Ensures compliance with the Health Home programs fiduciary responsibilities.
Conducts regular administrative and clinical meetings to facilitate communication, discuss clinical issues with both Health Home, CFTSS Staff.
Represents his/her areas of responsibility and the Department of Psychiatry at the hospital meetings, regulatory agency meetings, and the hospital's child protection committee.
Participates in projects as requested by the Director of the Child and Family Institute and/or the associate administrator at St. Luke's.
Attends staff meetings as required.
Assists departmental meetings as required.
Assists in overseeing the Wrap-Around Budget.
Review incoming referrals and assign new cases to case Managers.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based physical, psychosocial, cultural, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned area.
Organizational/Managerial
Participates in the department's performance improvement activities.
Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information.
Observes the healthcare system's compliance policies.
Facilitates parent advisory board meetings, as needed.

C. Educational/professional Development
Participates in the development of the other staff members.
Meets regulatory, licensure, and annual health assessment requirements
Identifies learning strengths and needs.
Utilizes learning sources.

D. Communication/Relationships
Demonstrated a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with the patients, families, and significant others.
Displays courtesy, tact, and patience, during interactions, with all members of the hospital staff and extended Community.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned when necessary

Requirements:

At least 2 years experience working with emotionally disturbed children in an outpatient or community based mental health program.
