We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, and 401k contributions.WHAT YOU WILL DOExecute financial statement analysis and reconciliations, and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations to help management with business decisionsAssist in annual financial audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to internal and external audit inquiriesPrepare, post, and reconcile period-end closing journal entries for P&L and balance sheet accountsHelp lead the implementation of best practices to simplify, standardize and scale our businessCoordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities; P&L and balance sheet analysis for various general ledger accounts; preparation of cash flow statementsPerform accounting close and reporting process, assuring that month-end close tasks and reconciliations are completed on the assigned due datesSupport the preparation of month-end journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules (payroll, cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, allocations)Contribute to the development of new or current accounting systems, programs and proceduresParticipate in the ongoing development/establishment of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents for accounting policies and regulationsAssist in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation processesSupport the accounts payable process to ensure proper and consistent coding and timely payments for vendors and employee expensesProcess employees expense reports through Concur/Expensify and process corporate credit card statementsDevelop and maintain improved processes for company spend policies and internal controls (financial reporting).Streamline the month-end close and consolidation process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.QUALIFICATIONSBA/BS in accounting or finance, CPA preferredLocated within the Tri-State AreaMinimum 4 years of corporate accounting experience; Big 4 experience and/or CPA is a big plusStrong knowledge and application of GAAP accounting policies and practicesSolid understanding of accounting life-cycle and all that it entails for startups, growing businesses, and public companies to succeedStrong analytical, verbal, and written communication skillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, match, etc.)Exceptional interpersonal skills for building collaborative relationships across all levels of the organizationExcellent skills in accuracy, organization, and comfort working in a high-volume/fast-paced environmentAbility to adapt to change, effectively manage multiple tasks/projects, and provide timely feedback and visibility while keeping management aware of key issuesMeticulous attention to detail and follow-throughExperience with Concur and Expensify a plusExperience at a public company is a plusBENEFITS & PERKS401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceJob Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to Commute/Relocate:New York, NY 10010 (Preferred)Education:Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Required)Work Location:One locationWork Remotely:Temporarily due to COVID-19
