Job Description:

Currently, the head of Policy and Control testing is looking to hire a shared resource that will not only manage daily responsibilities but also be engaged on streamline workflows, owning interpretation, and being asked to drive narratives to support changes.

Essential Responsibilities
Maintain the Company's technical accounting policies and provide guidance throughout the organization on the application of such policies
Review and contribute to disclosures in the Company's 10Q and 10K filings, ensuring that the financial statements and disclosures are in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America
Identify and assess technical accounting issues in complex business transactions.
Prepare technical accounting analysis and memorandums
Work with various business and finance leaders to provide guidance on the accounting and disclosure ramifications of transactions
Stay current on changes to accounting standards, SEC guidance and PCAOB regulations. Summarize for senior management new and proposed accounting pronouncements and their impact to the Company
Research and resolve technical accounting issues on a timely basis with the Company's external auditors
Some specific areas of technical accounting analysis may include loan, mortgage servicing rights and security accounting, transfers and servicing of financial assets, consolidation, including variable interest entities, business combinations, capital markets transactions, fair value measurement, derivatives, EPS, etc.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
CPA required; Big 4 experience preferred. Big 4 national office experience is a strong plus
4+ years of progressive experience including at least 3 years in public accounting
In-depth knowledge of key technical accounting areas (refer to essential functions for examples)
Highly collaborative with the ability to effectively manage cross functional projects
Highest level of ethics and integrity
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication, planning, time management and leadership skills
