As a Managing Director, Energy & Utilities IG Corporate bond trader within PNC's Capital Markets Group, you will be based in New York, NY. This candidate will make markets in many energy and utility names, and work with fixed income sales to facilitate client trades via voice, MarketAxess, or Tradeweb. The ideal candidate will have deep product knowledge/experience trading IG corporates, working with syndicate and banking to support new issue efforts, have verifiable client relationships, and a good track record. Series 7 and 63 required within 120 days of hire. Job Description Lead and manage trading strategy and execution for select capital markets products. Makes markets in designated customer products and manages portfolio risk. Enforces team's compliance with risk and regulatory requirements. May be responsible for a team of traders. Works strategically with traders, sales team, relationship managers, and investment bankers to develop and execute moderatly complex trading/hedging strategies. Maintains relationships with buyers and sellers. Drives accountability for business results and ensures appropriate training, coaching, development, and mentoring of staff. Identifies relative value opportunities and make markets. Monitors market conditions and manages risk across specified team's trading portfolios. Work with stakeholders to develop comprehensive capital markets selling strategies to maximize revenue and new business activity. Focuses market/product coverage efforts and ensures appropriate resource allocation. Monitors trading activities, industry and market developments, and regulatory requirements. Enforces compliance with policies and regulations. Works with stakeholders to develop/modify relevant policies and guidelines. Provides coaching to team members. Financial Engineering - Knowledge of and ability to utilize the tools, techniques, and practices for creating a mix of financial instruments that will leverage a client's financial resources to an acceptable level of risk. Financial Services Industry - Knowledge of financial services industry trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters; ability to provide specific financial knowledge and experience to help organizational development. Investment Bank Quantitative Analysis - Knowledge of and ability to use numerical methods to develop statistical models for devising trading strategies. Knowledge Of Customers - Knowledge of various types of customers and ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and information. Trading - Knowledge of and ability to engage in the transfer of financial assets in any financial market on behalf of an investor in order to capitalize on short-term trends. Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, or PhD is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8 + years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
