underrepresented groups. Role Overview The Financial Times is
looking for a highly motivated, detailed-oriented Staff Accountant
to join our accounting and finance team. What will I be responsible
for? Prepare, review and post journal entries, analyze and correct
discrepancies to ensure the accuracy and completeness of general
ledger on an ongoing basis Assist in timely completion of all
month-end and year-end closing activities Provide insightful and
analytical analysis on assigned GL accounts Prepare monthly
reconciliations for assigned accounts across multiple legal
entities Identify process improvement opportunities and implement
enhancements to strengthen financial controls Review, research, and
interpret current and historical financial information to resolve
departmental inquiries Prepare annual 1099 returns and assist with
W-9 & W-8 compliance Support Global Finance in various ad-hoc
projects Other functions as required Qualifications Bachelor's or
higher degree in Accounting CPA or actively pursuing CPA, with
minimum two parts passed towards completion Minimum of 2 years of
related experience that can come from public accounting and/or
industry Advanced level knowledge of Excel Solid knowledge of
Accounting principles (IFRS is a plus) Ability to develop an
understanding of business processes and understand implications on
financial statements Attention to detail, strong analytical skills,
and ability to find alternative ways of solving problems Work both
independently with limited supervision as well as in a team
environment Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a
dynamic and changing environment. Excellent communication skills;
proven ability to communicate effectively with individuals at
various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner
