Job Description:


To be the business partner with leaders in Business unit in matters relating to financial decision making, financial reporting, compensation and business management. To assume responsibility and accountability for all accounting and financial activities affecting the business including where appropriate, and directing the activities of the accounting department with a sales volume between 50 and 150 million dollars.


* Assure that: - Books of legal requirements are properly kept and retained for the operating unit.
* All recording and reporting requirements are met for management and regulatory agencies as required by law and are in accordance with company standard accounting procedures.
* Accounting operations are effectively and efficiently performed.
* Accountable for maintenance and development of administration and accounting controls over the use and recognition of assets, liabilities, revenue and disbursements and the related reporting systems necessary to monitor compliance and exception reporting to management.
* Administer general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, forms control and office equipment control.
* Participates as a member of the general managers staff and with the general manager reviews:
* Monthly/Quarterly/year to date operating results - Operating results forecasts for month/quarter/year.
* Short and long term strategic planning activities.
* Provide pertinent, accurate and timely financial reports to Division management and provide training in their use.
* Analyzes and interprets operating results in order to make specific recommendations which will result in improved cost control assets management and profit improvement.
* Assists in the development of the inventory control procedures affecting all operations and is for coordinating and auditing physical inventories.
* Analyzes the effect major proposals and/or rescheduling of major projects would have on future operating results and present alternatives to the general manager and staff.
* Evaluate contract pricing, terms and conditions and consults with the General Manager to negotiate. Sign off on cost estimates, pricing and projected profitability of all significant quotes.
* Evaluate new business opportunities in conjunction with senior management from a financial and overall business perspective. Assists in selection development and control of the Division activities in the area.
* Actively and visibly involved in all aspects of the Divisions business management. Take initiative and provide leadership to protect the best interests of the Division overall.
* Develop a working knowledge of the company wide financial information systems and procedures and maintain policies/procedures to effectively satisfy these.
* Establish procedures and assure compliance in conjunction with the Corporate credit function: granting of credit. - adherence to credit limit - collection activities - computation and analysis of key indicators
* Set high standards of professional, technical and business conduct and confidence for department personnel, and coordinate staffing and allocation of department resources as appropriate to accomplish defined objectives.
* Coordinate with all departments or functional areas of the organization in maintaining proper financial control.
* Direct the preparation of statistics for periodic and yearly financial statements, including the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, conditions and results.
* Review and certify vouchers and/or invoices for payment. Signature authorization for all checks over 5000 dollars.
* Ensure the correct and accurate accounting classifications for all transactions.
* Provide training to staff members as well as OJT in all the above areas so they are capable of adequately performing their assigned duties, continue to improve their skills, and progress to expanded levels of authority and responsibility within AAR.
* All other duties may be assigned.


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with AARs policies and applicable laws.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


* Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Masters degree preferred
* CPA a plus
