  • A passion for reaching Black, Latinx and other emerging majority audiences via communications strategies and tactics. Experience in Multicultural marketing/communications is a must.
  • Play a major role in driving the research, planning, and development and execution of comprehensive public relations campaigns, working with Edelman's specialists as part of integrated team -
  • Serve as daily client contact and as client lead when appropriate -
  • Oversee quality and operational performance of accounts, ensuring work quality and deadline adherence -
  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, press materials, new business proposals, etc. -
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving outreach plans, message development, management of events, coordination of media familiarization trips, effective pitching, and training of spokespersons on speeches and presentations and growth of contact network -
  • Oversee junior staff's work products to ensure quality and consistency -
  • Help mentor, coach and support team members and ensure you and your staff are constantly developing abilities through Edelman training, including on-the-job training and mentoring -
  • Participate in cross-practice and cross-geographical teams to provide clients and prospects with the most compelling team and proposal -
  • Manage day-to-day client budget issues to resolution. Manage process of developing client scope of work document, with support from finance and project management -
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman's values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct -
  • Live "in color" - and encourage staff to do so - by exploring and being active in the world outside of work, including the arts, culture, politics, literature, charitable organizations and/or other personal passions -Basic Qualifications:
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experiencePreferred Qualifications:
      • Prior experience in an agency environment strongly preferred -
      • Experience in multicultural marketing or communications
      • Track record of expertly counseling clients to manage issues and meet business goals based on a deep understanding of the media, regulatory and stakeholder landscape. -
      • Strong track record of leading data-driven and well researched traditional and integrated corporate communications programs across internal and external channels to build reputation and brand trust. -
      • The ability to act as a daily client contact and to be responsible for client-related finance management, including managing large projects within budget. -
      • Demonstrates excellent writing, editing, and presentation-development skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questions, critical thinking, client management and framework and methodology application) -
      • Ability to derive clarity out of ambiguous situations -
      • Possesses strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency sides -
      • Strong track record of leading programs across internal and external channels (e.g., media relations, social, owned) -
      • Solid knowledge of industry best and emerging practices - #LI-NM1 PAY RANGE: $79,000 - $115,000 An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
