MUFG's Project Finance Team: MUFG is an expert in project finance, supporting clients in acquiring, building, or recapitalizing assets in the power, energy, natural resources, transportation, social infrastructure, and digital infrastructure sectors. We have one of the most active project finance businesses in the world and have consistently been ranked the #1 overall project finance bank the Americas since 2009. The project finance team comprises approximately 70 individuals who actively originate, structure, and execute debt project financing transactions. Project finance transactions include bank loan arranging, senior notes placement or bookrunning, institutional loan bookrunning, and project finance advisory services. Transactions often also involve interest rate and currency derivatives. The team works closely with dedicated partners in MUFG's debt capital markets and global markets teams to seamlessly deliver debt financing and risk management solutions for clients across markets. Responsibilities Include: Reviewing new business opportunities, preparing and submitting materials used for screening new deals with senior management for approval
Undertaking detailed financial analysis and transaction diligence, including reviewing market studies, engineering reports, environmental and social risk reports, financial models, financial statements, client and counterparty financial information, project commercial agreements, and legal diligence memoranda
Modeling and reviewing financial projections in Microsoft Excel, including detailed breakdowns and analysis of cash flows and nonrecourse debt structures
Preparing detailed documentation including summaries of expected financial results and risk analysis for submission to risk and control functions
Reviewing and analyzing transaction term sheets and documentation with a focus on understanding credit features and covenants in financing documentation
Developing financing transaction marketing materials, including rating agency presentations, lender and investor presentations, and information memoranda
Ownership and management of processes required for compliance and execution, including profitability analysis, committee approvals, legal due diligence, KYC, and closing checklists
Supporting the delivery of seamless execution in all respects, including origination, diligence, analysis, structuring, approvals, closing, and liaising with various relevant internal partners
Developing and maintaining marketing and pitch materials Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
A minimum of 1 to 4 years of work experience in the financial services industry; preferably in a project finance role, experience with analyzing cash flows and credit risk, detailed financial modeling, reviewing credit documentation and term sheets, managing approval requirements and processes, and effectively interacting with clients
Proactive, resourceful self-starter capable of rapidly learning new systems and processes and working effectively in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver high-quality, clear, and concise presentations and memoranda with limited assistance
Capacity to consistently communicate professionally, tactfully, and effectively with clients, third party advisors, and colleagues
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a high-intensity environment and effectively manage/prioritize and deliver on multiple streams of workflow while maintaining high degree of attention to detail and accuracy in all respects
Familiarity with financial statements, credit analysis, and credit documentation
Advanced financial modeling and cash flow analysis skills
Understanding of key products (Loans, Bonds Interest Rates Swap, and Foreign Exchange)
Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis

This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
