Job Description:

A financial services firm located in New York City is actively seeking a diligent and team-oriented professional to join their staff as their new Assistant Fund Controller. In this role, the Assistant Fund Controller will play a critical role in supporting the growth of the diversified asset management platform.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Fund Controller will:

• 
  
• Work with the head of fund accounting to design and implement financial and operational best practices to support the growth and evolution of the platform
  
• Build and oversee the fund accounting function, including internal and outsourced providers
  
• Research and design strategies and systems to improve efficiency as it pertains to accounting and financial reporting
  
• Oversee the preparation of the quarterly financial statements, capital account statements, marketing letters, performance reporting, capital calls, and distribution notices
  
• Perform management and incentive calculations, expense accruals, budgeting and forecasting, and calculate deal by deal waterfalls
  
• Effectively liaise with investment professional, legal and compliance, business development, and operations to ensure proper controls are in place to support current and future business
  
  Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
    
  • 6-10+ years of related experience
    
  • Life insurance, private equity, or private credit experience
    
  • Proficiency with computer platforms and applications
    
  • Ability to multitask
    
  • Excellent communication skills
    
  • Strong attention to detail
    
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
