Working within the firm's trading, sales, banking and investment management divisions, strats use their mathematical and scientific training to create financial products, advise clients on transactions, measure risk, and identify market opportunities. Your Impact Securities Strats play important roles in several areas. Strats aligned with trading desks are responsible for pricing and risk models to provide insight into market behavior of securities, loans, derivatives and other complex financial instruments. Strats develop mathematical models and implement analytics that assist in monitoring, analyzing and managing risk by desk traders as well as senior management. Strats are also responsible for development and maintenance of infrastructure for pricing and risk management of trade and investment positions Responsibilities
    • Development of pricing models related to mortgage backed securities, loans, and derivatives
    • Development and calibration of statistical credit and prepayment models for measuring default, prepayment and severity of mortgage and asset backed securities and loans.
    • Development and support of analytical tools and infrastructure to help trading desk with daily trading activities, valuation and risk management
    • Analyze data and develop surveillance reports to monitor collateral and deal performance
    • Help trading desk analyze trading ideas, hedging strategies, and ROE optimization Basic Qualifications:
      • Academic background in any of relevant field - (STEM - Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Financial Engineering) (Masters or Phd Preferred)
      • 1-4 -years o f front office quant/modeling experience in mortgages asset classes.
      • Meaningful experience coding in -an Object oriented programming language such as C, C++ and Python.
      • Comfortable working with Database/Statistical software such as R, SQL

        The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.Benefits

The Rates Systematic Market Making (SMM) Trading Desk sits within the Interest Rate Products (IRP) business in the Global Banking & Markets Division. Where trading has traditionally been negotiated by high-touch verbal interactions, the financial services industry has undergone a rapid transition towards faster-paced, computerized trading. This style of trading is driven by the quant developers and traders who build, manage, and optimize these trading systems. Candidates joining the rates SMM trading desk will develop, maintain, and improve the various aspects of our automated trading business. All team members are expected to be hands-on with writing software, driving their ideas and projects to production. The Residential Whole Loan Trading Desk is seeking an analyst or associate to contribute to the continued growth and success of the residential loan trading business within GBM. The residential loan trading desk purchases & aggregates residential whole loans with the intent of selling/reconstituting those loans via Securitization (MBS) or Whole Loan Sale. Candidates should be expected to eventually synthesize and understand credit and interest rate risk associated with residential loans. In addition, candidates will interface with various clients as well as GS personnel touching different areas of the residential loan ecosystem.
