Join a Winning Team!Through its relationship with CUSO Financial Services, LP (CFS) The Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union is seeking a Financial Advisor to provide investment services to its members in New York City, primarily within the 5 Boroughs. This is PSFCU's most mature market with a very loyal membership base with numerous affluent members who are looking for retirement options and family wealth transfer guidance.The Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union was established in 1976. The founders wanted to help immigrants who, upon arrival in New York City, wanted to buy houses in Greenpoint but were turned down by the banks. Banks were unwilling to extend credit for purchases or renovations of real estate properties to people who did not yet have an established credit history, especially since these properties were in an area that was run-down at the time.The first PSFCU office was located at 940 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn NY. In 1981, PSFCU purchased a building at 140 Greenpoint Avenue, in Greenpoint Brooklyn, which served as its headquarters.In 1987, our Credit Union opened a second branch located in Union, NJ, offering its services to the vast community of Polish immigrants residing in that part of the state. Subsequent years witnessed a quick growth of the PSFCU, with new branches being opened New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. The Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union has grown to have $2.6 Billion in Assets, over 112,000 members, now being served in 22 branches in various locations throughout the previously referenced states and is currently the largest ethnic credit union in the United States.By partnering with CUSO Financial Services, LP (CFS), the credit union and dedicated Financial Advisor have access to the best of both worlds, a regionally focused financial institution with an extremely loyal and engaged member base complemented by large scale broker-dealer with nationwide scope. As the Financial Advisor, your in-depth knowledge of financial planning and investments, in addition to your service-oriented philosophy, will allow you to coordinate, communicate, advise, and execute plans for credit union Member's long term financial needs. Covering specified branches, Financial Advisors can partner with dedicated team members within their territory to identify those Members in need of help. Your individual focus on your clients and their needs for financial products and services will be conducted at the highest level of integrity and genuine care for your clients' financial success.As a Financial Advisor your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identifies and evaluates customer needs for financial services, assess the objectives and goals of the individual, then develops an investment strategy to implement.
  • Stays current and analyzes market conditions and otherwise educating and updating themselves about financial and investment vehicles in the market and the tax and securities consequences to clients with particular investments. Attends training and/or completing required continuing education and keeps current on investment products and services offered. Meets regularly with Program Manager and trains, if necessary, with Program Manager.
  • Drives investment and program integration initiatives with credit union and/or assigned bank program (includes branch personnel training). Provides regular feedback to the branch employees, identified credit union executives and sales manager regarding sales practices and business development initiatives. Work with Financial Center Managers to identify and leverage cross-sell opportunities.
  • Services and performs periodic reviews of existing client accounts and meets with clients periodically to review and update client needs ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan. Meetings to take place either monthly, quarterly and/or yearly depending on client needs established by Representative.
  • Remains visible to the appropriate segments of the public to meet and to retain potential new clients for CFS, including conducting client workshops/seminars on various topics (i.e., Social Security, Education planning, Retirement planning, etc.)Required Qualifications:
    • Active Series 7, 63/65 (or 66) licenses along with Life, Accident & Health licenses
    • Clean U-4 and Background
    • Two or more years of sales experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a bank or credit union
    • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, necessary to provide exceptional service to all members/clients and enthusiastically promote the investment program to internal partners and an external network you develop
    • Commitment to supporting, and contributing to, a team-oriented cultureDesired Qualifications
      • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
      • Bilingual (Polish and English speaking) preferred
      • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation
      • Experience delivering high quality service in all interactions with clients, prospective clients, and staff within a financial institution environment
