As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the New York, New York area, at a company where effort is rewarded.Major responsibilities- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting- Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll- Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP- Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries- Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments- Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on- Partake in various department-wide initiatives- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
