Job Title: Supervisor, Retirement ServicesDepartment: Retirement
ServicesReports To: Manager, Retirement ServicesFLSA Status:
Management - Exempt Summary: Under the supervision of the Manager,
Retirement Services, this position requires the Supervisor to
perform a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day
administration of the departments pension plans. This includes the
supervision and allocation of work to the staff who advise members
about their retirement benefits. Also, mentoring and training the
staff on the administration of pension plans, oversight of the
delivery of member education and retirement benefits, reviewing
staff work and providing direct member support as needed. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide team supervision, assign and monitor staff workload,
track deliverables and due dates.
- Provide basic HR guidance on attendance and work performance
requirements.
- Ensure that QA standards are being met in regard to pension
application processing, call answer rate, and customer
service.
- Provide feedback and coaching to staff regarding member
interactions and pension application processing.
- Monitor the member appointment calendar daily.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and shift resources
as needed.
- Supervise the annual Required Minimum Distribution process for
active members and age 70 recalculations, including member
communications and appointments.
- Draft and/or review complex member communications.
- Work directly with Fund professionals such as the Fund Actuary
and Independent Auditors in providing any information requested
necessary in completing the annual valuation and plan audits.
- Internal liaison with Member Services (call center), the
Executive Office, and the Union regarding issues and pension
concerns.
- Review and update of all forms and letters mailed to members
and pensioners in accordance with the Funds style guidelines and
Fund Counsel/Compliance approval.
- Assist Manager, Retirement Services in any necessary
preparation for Trustee meetings.
- Address escalated issues/calls as necessary with Senior
Management.
- Identify and arrange for any training that may prove valuable
to team.
- Other projects as assigned by Management.Qualifications: To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed

required. Technical Skills:
- Call center experience preferred
- Organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong mathematical skills
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Must possess a strong sense of ownership as well as the ability
to take initiative to work independently
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation while solving problems
efficiently
- Excellent attendance and punctuality Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong oral and written interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently coupled with the ability to work

- Outstanding work ethic and employment record. Education and/or
Experience:
- College Degree and/or five (5) years of equivalent supervisory
