• This role will be in office full time, and they are located in the Upper East Side with many bus and train lines going through there including the N,Q,R trains.
  Responsibilities of the Assistant CFO/Controller
  
  • Responsible for directing and managing the school's daily accounting and finance operations.
    
  • Monthly financial preparation and related reporting
    
  • Manage and maintain general ledger.
    • Journal entries. Reconciliations, quarterly reporting to the Board of Trustees
      
      
    • Hire, train and provide daily oversight of the accounting and finance staff.
      
    • Ensure all federal, state and local tax requirements are met.
      • 990 filings, 5500 filings
        
        
      • Oversight of surveys, compliance reporting and requests for financial data
        
      • Assist the CFO with preparation of annual budgets.
        • Variance reporting, year-end projects
          
          Qualification of the Assistant CFO/Controller
          
          • 10+ years accounting experience / 7+ in a nonprofit or academic setting
            
          • CPA is a plus! bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Management / MBA Preferred
            
          • Previous supervisory experience
            
          • Great 'People' person and a joyful attitude
            
          • Knowledge of Blackbaud NXT, Paymerang and Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
