Job Description:

The Park Slope Afterschool Center at P.S. 107 Elementary School in Brooklyn is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to help manage our vibrant and fun afterschool enrichment program for Pre-K through 5th grade children. The Administrative Coordinator will assist our Executive Director to run a successful Afterschool Program within the wonderful P.S. 107 community.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills to help support the administrative functions of the afterschool program. - The position will be a hybrid of remote and in-person work, with 2-3 afternoons per week working in-person at the school. -Who We ArePark Slope Afterschool Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded by P.S. 107 parents for the specific purpose of providing an affordable, inclusive, high quality after school childcare program for P.S. 107 students. We provide continual care from 2:40-6:00 pm throughout the school year; Homework Hall where children can complete homework assignments at school with support from qualified staff; a wide variety of specialty programs covering the arts, wellness, sports, languages and STEM; ample supervised free play time; and opportunities for off-site activities in Prospect Park. On average, 400 students enroll in our programming, which is provided by a dedicated and nurturing staff of approximately 45 educators and 20 instructional vendors. The school year is our busy season, with planning, setup, and hiring taking place over the summer.Responsibilities -The Administrative Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and be responsible for the following: -

  • Support the key administrative tasks of the Afterschool program.
  • Assist with the registration process and with parent correspondence and work with the board and Executive Director to identify ways to streamline and improve the process.
  • Assist the program's bookkeeper with financial tasks including the review of payroll, vendor bills, and other financial bookkeeping responsibilities.
  • Create and print weekly rosters for the program.
  • Maintain the program's website:
  • Liaise with vendors, alumni volunteers and the scholarship committee which is run by board members.
  • Order/manage snacks for the program.RequirementsThe ideal candidate will demonstrate the following attributes: -
    • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform multiple tasks seamlessly
    • Tech-savvy to be able to assist with the PSACC and registration websites -
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or willingness to learn additional technologies, including website management
    • Ability to work with an upbeat tone within an academic/school enrichment setting
    • A commitment to fostering a learning environment that supports and embraces diverse learners and diverse cultural perspectives and experiencesThe hourly rate for this position is $25 per hour for a minimum of 20 hours per week - up to 40 hours a week depending on workload.
