DETAILSThe Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, which welcomed an
inaugural class of 69 students at Steiner Studios in Fall 2015, is
the first public film school in New York. Now in its seventh year
with 200 students, Feirstein is dedicated to cultivating new and
emerging voices in cinema. Housed in a 70,000 sq. ft. state-of
theart facility on the Steiner Studios lot, the school offers a
3-year specialized education in 8 disciplines leading to an M.F.A:
Producing (2 Year), Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography,
Post-Production, and Digital Animation and Visual Effects. Media
Scoring and Sonic Arts; and a 2-year M.A. in Screen
Studies.Brooklyn College invites applications for an Operations
Specialist (Administrative Specl) in the Feirstein Graduate School
of Cinema. Reporting to and will work closely with the Executive
Director, the Operations Specialist provides operational support to
the Feirstein Graduate School of CinemaIn addition to the CUNY
Title Overview, the Operations Specialist's duties include but are
not limited to:Administer the day-to-day operations of the
Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema and assist senior leadership
with developing and monitoring standard operating
procedures.Supervise & coordinate all operations activities for
events, seminars internally & externally.Serve as a key point of
contact for Steiner Studio to coordinate facility access, security,
utilities, and facility maintenance.Serve as a liaison to internal
and external entities including the college's administration.Work
with Academic Program Manager to assign classrooms.Work with
Production Specialist to schedule production activities at the
Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema sound stages and manage
logistics.Hire, supervise and train the part time office staff,
College Assistants.Manage student, faculty, staff contact list,
administer student college badges and ID's, email addresses and
correspondence to the community.Liaise with HR, coordinate all HR
processing and maintain files.Secure purchases for school, office
supplies, technical supplies etc.Performs related duties as
assigned by the Executive Director.Vaccine MandateCandidates will
be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against
COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or
religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in
accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined
for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose
of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be
fully vaccinated as of their first day of
employment.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Bachelor's Degree and four years'
relevant experience required.Preferred Experience, or background
working in a higher education, or other academic environment
preferred or film industry or general operations.Excellent verbal
and written communication and computer skills.Strong management and
organizational skills essential.Able to work in a fast-paced
environment, troubleshoot problems and take initiative as
needed.Knowledge of PeopleSoft/Oracle-based systems, including
CUNYfirst, a plus but not required.CUNY TITLE OVERVIEWProvides
administrative and program support to an administrative or academic
department.- Oversees department operations and assists management
in planning department activities, creating schedules, assigning
staff and preparing and delivering department communications.-
Works with appropriate offices related to personnel recruitment,
expediting search activities- Research coordinates and organizes
materials for key events such as promotion and tenure reviews.-
Supervises and trains support staff and student workers.- Manages
budget and coordinates purchasing, accounting, and payroll.-
Provides instructions and basic advice to students, faculty, and
others seeking information on department activities, policies, and
