executive editor and support other editors on a project basis. The
ideal candidate is enthusiastic, curious, industrious, highly

blogs, social media, etc., with an engagement with culture and
trends. An interest in general adult nonfiction, lifestyle, humor,

- Assist executive editor with both her books and calendars;
assist other editors with projects as needed.
- Work toward being able to edit a range of calendars
independently
- Administrative and clerical duties, such as keeping track of
book and calendar schedules; reviewing catalog copy; and sending
contracts and payments

- Write interesting, accurate captions; basic fact-checking

Part-time, Workman Publishing Workman Publishing's Digital
Operations Department is hiring an entry-level, remote freelancer
to do a variety of tasks related to our direct-to-consumer
websites. Primary responsibilities include editing and scheduling
our social media posts and responding to customer service inquiries
via email on a weekly basis. This is a great opportunity for
someone who is learning about social media marketing and wants to
get some hands-on experience while also learning about paid social
ads (Facebook, Instagram), CRM marketing, and Analytics. The
position is remote, and would require about 4-5 hours per week and
20-30 hours per month in our busy season (October-January).
Required skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong copyediting and proofreading skills
- Experience with Zoho Social or other social media scheduling

Speaker's Bureau The Workman Speakers Bureau is looking for a
Senior Manager to head up the bureau and work with authors from all
the Workman imprints and divisions, including Workman, Algonquin,
Artisan, Storey, Timber, The Experiment, and others. This is a
part-time position (remote for now; 25 hours per week), but it is
an entrepreneurial opportunity and we'd love to have the bureau
grow into a full-time position. Responsibilities include:
- Pitching, negotiating, and booking paid speaking engagements
for the Workman Speakers Bureau's roster of speakers and any other
authors whom we publish. This includes general speaker inquiries
from venues, clients, and potential sponsors by email and/or by
phone, as well as proactive outreach to new venues, conferences,
and corporations.
- Creating and reviewing event contracts; coordinating logistics
with each venue; working with the publicity and sales departments
on author travel and book sales for bureau events.
- Writing pitch materials, speaker bios, and maintaining the
Speakers Bureau website.
- Attending launch and strategy meetings to identify new author

designers focused on creating innovative nonfiction for children
ages 0-14. We're looking for a Designer/Senior Designer who can
translate complicated ideas into exciting learning experiences for
kids. We ideate books ranging from board books to complex novelty
formats to graphic novels-so we need someone who's flexible and
excited about a creative challenge. Here's what we're looking for:

Children's Editor, Workman Publishing Workman's Children's
department, home of blockbuster brands Brain Quest, Big Fat

candidate should have at least five years' experience in children's
editorial. Educational publishing experience and familiarity with
early elementary-through-high school curriculum preferred.
