Reports To: Associate Director of MarketingPosition Type: Full TimeStandard Hours: 40 hours a weekFLSA Status: ExemptJob Class: Professional StaffSummary:The Social Media Manager is a marketing professional with proven copywriting and design expertise. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager manages all social media platforms for the college including writing, designing, posting, developing, and analyzing social media content. The ideal candidate will have copywriting experience and design skills that enable them to produce meaningful content rich with keyword strategies and SEO optimization.Essential Responsibilities:* Maintain the College's official social media channels, in collaboration and under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing and with any relevant stakeholders from throughout the institution to create best-in-class content and experiences.* Manage all social media platforms for the business.* Create and evaluate social media strategies.* Monitor, respond to and communicate with the online community.* Develop new methods to engage consumers on social platforms.* Grow the company's social media reach.* Engages with student and professional social media managers throughout the institution under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing to share best and new social media practices, providing training programs, showcasing exceptional work, and surfacing opportunities for improvement.* Buildings and manages a daily/weekly/monthly content-rich social media calendar to attract a qualified audience to College-owned web properties* Writes short-form social/blog posts on an ongoing basis to attract site visitors, particularly through organic search and social channels.* Developing and implementing keyword strategies to increase ranking and traffic.* Evaluating and altering strategies based on a comprehensive understanding of analytics and in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager.* Practicing honest and creative SEO tactics.* Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.* Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.* Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.* Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.* Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.* Perform other functions as assigned by management.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelors degree and 2-3 years of marketing and content creation experience (relevant internships count).* Experience managing non-personal social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.* The ability to communicate on social platforms in a consistent, on-brand voice.* Experience using social media analytics tools and the ability to tweak social strategies based on findings.* A love and knack for writing both brief and in-depth content with samples to demonstrate writing skills* Some basic design skills using tools like PowerPoint, Photoshop, and InDesign.* Excellent independent and team collaboration skills.* Experience managing a social media calendar.* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.* Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.* Ability to be sensitive to and respond to the needs and concerns of all constituents of the College including but not limited to students, faculty, college staff and the public.* Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.Physical Requirements:* Some evening and weekend hours may be required.* Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.In support of the Americans with Disabilities Act, this job description lists only those responsibilities and qualifications deemed essential to the position.Keuka College is an Equal Opportunity Employer
