Your Role

IBM Watson Advertising, formerly The Weather Company's advertising sales division, uses the world's leading artificial intelligence (AI) technology to unlock data and insights and help marketers make better decisions. We offer trusted, insight-driven media, data, and technology solutions that can be deployed across a brand's entire marketing strategy to help drive results.

The IBM Watson Advertising Sales Strategist is responsible for working directly with Watson Advertising's most strategic partners to drive demand and sales for media, data and technology solutions across brands, agencies, and clients in the ecosystem. This position requires an ability to hunt for new leads, learn to close data/tech/media deals, and show flexibility/grit within a dynamic team environment. There will be a need for internal collaboration with various departments (marketing, product, account management) to deliver on client objectives.

Your Abilities & Skills

  • Seasoned digital media seller with 5+ years' experience
  • Skilled in prospecting, pitching, and closing new business
  • Knowledge of online and offline media and can be creative with weather-based client solutions
  • Strong negotiation skills, the ability to present effectively and close the deal and a growth mindset
  • Ability to build a pipeline and proven track record of exceeding goals
  • Dexterity in creating reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.
  • Team player, smart, adapt well to change and have a positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-throughYour Responsibilities
    • Drive ad revenue with top tier brands across the Watson advertising portfolio
    • Manage pipeline with CRM tools for maximum efficiency and visibility, with carefully executed follow-up to closure
    • Work cross-functionally with operations and yield teams to set up campaigns for success
    • Build and develop solutions that optimize customer satisfaction
    • Manage expenses responsibly


      Required Technical and Professional Expertise
      • Proven success in digital advertising sales, both from an operational and sales perspective
      • Possess strong relationships across agency and client levels
      • Minimal 5 years' working in digital advertising
      • Experience at a major publisher, agency, or programmatic technology company
      • Strong understanding of the programmatic landscape, challenges in the digital marketplace, and the competitive landscape
        Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
        • Publisher, Agency or Ad Tech Platform experience
        • Programmatic experience preferred
