Who You Are:You're passionate about the power of communications to improve people's lives. You're an expert at crafting great stories and making them travel. You possess a deep and proven understanding of the integrated landscape of traditional and new media formats. You're a creative thinker. And you're looking for a high-visibility role where you have the opportunity to make a real impact.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a health media team. That means taking ownership over the agency's approach to building integrated media strategies on behalf of clients. You're part thinker, part doer. You can identify the most compelling elements of a client's story, craft the strategic approach to getting that story out into the world, and make it happen through deep relationships with health media.
Responsibilities:

  • Serve as senior strategic media counselor across marque pharmaceutical and public affairs clients
  • Develop integrated media strategies, in partnership with planning, digital, creative and account experts, that position our clients for success
  • Leverage existing media relationships to generate coverage for client news and milestones
  • Contribute creative thinking alongside account teams to generate mediable moments outside of major news milestones
  • Actively contribute to idea generation and campaign development with a keen eye for programs that will travel with media
  • Participate in new business pitches as the agency's media expert, demonstrating a command for the space and a vision for how to architect effective stories
  • Build and manage a team of highly competent and sophisticated earned media professionals
  • Create agency training programs to develop junior talent into skilled media practitioners
  • Be a core part of a team and culture that leads with kindness and humanity, and knows how to have a little fun while we're at it
    Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 7-10 years of related professional experience (minimum of 5 years at a PR agency)
    • Deep experience in driving media coverage across the full spectrum of healthcare communications work, with required experience in Rx treatments at various stages of their life cycle (e.g. regulatory milestones, FDA approvals, post-approval)
    • Experience driving media coverage for public health issues and initiatives, as well as disease awareness and corporate reputation campaigns
    • Strong relationships with key health reporters at national news outlets and trade media
    • A track record of securing coverage for healthcare clients across the full spectrum of media outlets
    • Deep experience in developing integrated media strategies and selling those strategies to current and prospective clients
    • Experience as a media lead in new business pitches is preferred
