Job Description:

The Investments Organization manages -$90B of the invested assets and generates -$3B in Investment Income (subject to market risk) for AIG. The Finance team provides the day-to-day support to Investments which includes amongst many responsibilities leading the overall NII process, reporting and the analysis of the asset portfolio, consisting of fixed maturity and equity securities, commercial, residential, and collateral loans, private equity, and hedge fund investments. -Key Departmental responsibilities include:1) Leading the short term (Pulse), quarterly forecasting and annual budgets for Investment related P&L and Balance Sheet metrics2) Providing critical guidance into the decisions relating to Strategic Asset Allocations and Third-Party asset management contracts3) Providing financial analysis on Investments target operating model and more broadly cost of operations/ expense trends4) Designing and implementing the Investment expense allocation framework to Insurance companies. -The team interacts with a wide variety of stakeholders including CIOs, FPA, Treasury, Controllers, Tax and Capital teams -As Senior Analyst, you will be an important member of the NII analytics workstream.

  • In this role, you will be responsible for building financials models that translate future economic assumptions and conditions into GAAP and STAT Financial projections, including Invested Asset Balance Sheets, Cashflow and Income Statements.
  • You will provide detailed analytics and supporting schedules that help explain the top line Investment story and numbers to the management and other stakeholders. This includes leveraging variety of reporting/ presentation techniques such as trend analysis, waterfall charts and other data visualization methods to convey key messages
  • You will be asked to create what if scenarios/sensitivities to answer key management questions on portfolio performance, macroeconomic impact on investment performance and income trends
  • You will support the short run quarterly outlook (Pulse) process and will be required to refresh relevant reports on a periodic basis and support the weekly update to the management
  • You will be expected to perform competitor / benchmarking analysis against the peers in the investments space.Job Requirements:
    • Strong "Quant" skills combined with general business knowledge
    • Knowledge of Investments and Investment accounting with 3+ years of work experience
    • Strong knowledge of key data requirements necessary to deliver an insightful Investment analysis
    • Ability to relate macro drivers to operating results (understand "cause and effect")
    • Willingness to challenge assumptions / status Quo (Change Agent)
    • Ability to, to prioritize appropriately, and to approach the work with a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail to produce high quality results in a time sensitive environment.
    • Process-oriented/control-oriented mindset, ability to drive improvements and the implementation of accounting controls to ensure consistency and data quality of the team's financial output.
    • High level of motivation and initiative, ability to work independently, including strong organizational and management skills.
    • Extremely strong excel and power point skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers and management--- For positions based in NYC, the base salary range $90,000-$127,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
