USGeneral Description: The Director of Broadcast Information
Technology will assist the Vice President of Engineering and Chief
Information Officer with technological innovation, support, and
maintenance of production systems, including all the interconnected
hardware and software intended to sustain and improve the daily
work of content creation and management. The network has a full
matrix of systems designed to ingest, record, edit, organize and
playout live and edited video and audio using a comprehensive set
of systems found in most network television environments.Reporting
to the Chief Information Officer, this position will require
oversight of the configuration and ongoing management of the
connectivity and interoperability of these systems to ensure
optimized performance of each, seamless operation, and security.
The Director role will provide technical leadership and guidance
across all broadcast-related technology platforms which integrate
with IT functions, as well as project planning and budgeting,
overseeing related equipment purchases, installation planning and
documentation efforts. Core Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and
oversee the activities of 24 x 7 Broadcast IT support staff. Assist
the Vice President of Engineering in development, preparation and
implementation of department capital and operating budgets along
with long range project planning. Conceive and manage the IT
component of Engineering department capital projects, including
systems design, equipment selection, purchasing, installation and
implementation. Implement and oversee network signal distribution
over IP (OTT and Satellite). Collaborate with cable, MVPD, OTT and
FAST channels for easy facilitation of network content. Prioritize
technical projects and system upgrades according to Engineering
resources and considerations in impact to systems integrity and
availability. Work with editorial partners and engineering
leadership in developing new systems, processes, and procedures to
ensure project success. Recommend, evaluate, and monitor current
and future broadcast technologies to accommodate hardware and
software solution transitions. Manage integration of OTT
programmatic ads and SSAI (server-side ad insertion) with vendors.
Assist VP Broadcast Engineering to maintain newsroom systems such
as AP ENPS, teleprompter software, network infrastructure, and edit
systems. Collaborate with Chief Cyber Security Officer to maintain
security on all broadcast IP systems. Work with broadcast
engineering to efficiently manage graphics and video editing
systems and workflows. Oversee monitoring systems and alerts to
ensure full redundancy of operations. Position
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical
Engineering, or similar technical field and/or equivalent
experience. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in all facets
of broadcast information technology. Minimum 5 years of IT-related
project management experience. Minimum 3 years of team management
experience. Effective and positive interpersonal communication
skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency in establishing
priorities with multiple projects under tight deadlines. Proven
troubleshooting and analytical skills. Highly Valued Knowledge
BaseAdvanced ability to architect and implement forward-thinking,
innovative, and flexible procedures, processes, and systems
designs. Advanced working knowledge of (including, but not limited
to): Newsroom Control Systems Graphics and Video systems MOS
Switchers, Routers, Playout, and all related interconnected

integration and support Storage Area Networks and file systems
Metadata Controller management File Archiving procedures and
support Fiber Channel infrastructure, switch fabric configuration
and management Industry standard post-production video and audio
file formats Remote-to-studio fiber and IP connectivity
(best-of-breed) Local and Cloud-based services, worklows, and
applications for post-production editing Complex media systems and
workflows encompassing file ingest, transcoding and delivery
Windows, Mac, and Linux workstations and servers Commonly used IP,
