Job Description:
Gpac (Growing People & Companies, has been retained by a New
York, Rockland County nonprofit organization to search for an Email
Marketing Manager who will report directly to the Executive
Director. This organization empowers people living with serious and
sometimes life-long chronic illnesses. They promote evidenced-based
education and tools to help people make informed medical decisions
and by advocating for improved access to health care. The culture
at the organization promotes healthy living and lifestyles. The
organization is very diverse and is open to candidates from all
backgrounds. Candidates who are ex-military are encouraged to
apply. The Email Marketing Manager will:
- Work with members of all departments (education, research,
advocacy) to engage their audience of people living with chronic
disease, contributing to overarching business strategies and
decisions.
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, updating
automated email series, and cross promote various email lists.
- Utilize the email marketing software, Mailchimp, to manage all
email campaigns from inception to execution organization wide. This
includes participating in drafting of engaging content and
formatting emails that align with mission and message. Requirements
and Responsibilities: Marketing and Communications Background : A
degree or experience in marketing, communications, or a related
field is desired to grasp audience engagement and effective
messaging and branding. Experience with Email Marketing Platforms:
Proficiency in using email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp,
Constant Contact, or similar tools is essential for creating and
distributing newsletters, managing subscriber lists, and analyzing
campaign performance. - Content Creation and Copywriting Skills:
Must have good writing skills for crafting email content that
captures the audience's interest, with an emphasis on creating
compelling subject lines and clear, informative messages. Strategic
Marketing : An understanding of how to craft marketing strategies
tailored to different stages of the patient journey. The role
requires the ability to analyze and segment the audience
effectively, creating personalized and dynamic campaigns that
address the specific needs, concerns, and motivations at each stage
of their journey. Graphic Design Abilities: While not mandatory,
basic skills in graphic design software like Adobe, Photoshop or
Canva can be valuable for creating visually appealing newsletter
layouts and branded imagery. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Should be comfortable with basic data monitoring related to email
marketing, such as monitoring open rates and click-through rates,
and able to learn how to compile these insights for reports and
email strategy. List Management: Knowledge of list management best
practices is essential for targeting specific patient demographics
with relevant content and promotions. Organizational Skills: The
ability to manage various tasks simultaneously, adhere to
deadlines, and coordinate with various stakeholders (designers,
writers, IT professionals, etc.) is crucial for successful
newsletter campaigns. Adaptability and Creativity: The digital
marketing landscape is constantly evolving, so candidates should be
adaptable to new trends, technologies, and best practices.
Creativity is also valuable for brainstorming innovative newsletter
ideas and campaigns. Email Compliance Knowledge: Knowledge of email
compliance regulations such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CPRA, and CCPA is
preferred though not mandatory. Remote Work Proficiency:
Demonstrated capability to effectively work remotely, including
strong communication skills, self-motivation, and proficiency in
utilizing remote collaboration tools. Anticipated Salary Range:
$65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience. *Employment will
be on a contract basis for the first 4 months, with the opportunity
to stay on as a full-time employee based on organizational need and
fit at the end of the 4-month period. Applicants should submit a
