Job Description:

Project Leader - Government (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. - New York, New York): Manage the design and development of long-term business strategies for government entities as well as organizations within the public sector in order to achieve superior efficiency, growth, and organizational capability. Specific duties include: research and analyze large data sets to assess economic baselines for targeted geographies and population sets; develop insights from data; perform market and economic development research to analyze effectiveness of public sector policy programs and initiatives; develop models and strategies to achieve largescale transformational change; manage case team responsibilities including personnel assignments, research and analysis, and reports to clients; undertake critical evaluation of analytical work performed using advanced economic and financial analysis techniques; oversee and direct consultants and junior professional staff; oversee project planning and preparation of outputs; present findings to senior client management; and oversee business development and client relationships. Requires a Master's degree (or higher) in law, public policy, government, political science, or a related social science field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience as a management consultant or analyst, which must include at least one (1) year of experience providing business strategy recommendations to government agencies or organizations in the public sector. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section) - must possess the following: (i) applying advanced economic and financial analysis theories such as competitive cost and decision analysis, capabilities assessment, portfolio review based on financial reports, and experience and scale curve analysis; (ii) conducting advanced analysis of scale economies, seasonal effects on financial forecasts, impact of uncertainties on business outcomes, corporate financing policies and evaluation of factors that influence a company's debt capacity; (iii) managing individuals, teams and processes; (iv) evaluating bodies of law affecting public sector organizations; (v) utilizing economic databases to gather relevant data and efficiently developing economic baselines; (vi) conducting advanced analysis of proprietary municipal data including traffic and consumer spending to draw insights; and (vii) extracting meaningful data and analyze impact of public record information from legislative and advisory committee meeting.
