Your Key Responsibilities Your key responsibilities as a senior manageron the SLED Health & Human Services (HHS) team include serving as a keyresource in managing the day-to-day activities in support of buildingrelationships throughout the HHS agencies and departments while driving growthand delivery activities. We anticipate up to 40% of your time involving newbusiness development, origination activities and capture efforts, while 60% ofyour time will be focused on delivering on new business sold to your client. You will contribute to project delivery byoverseeing, participating in and reviewing the parameters of the consultingwork under contract; participating in resource planning and development; andmanaging both contract and client expectations. Skills and attributes for Success

  • Key capabilities that you should be prepared to bring to client-facingand internal teams include:
  • Experience working in and/or with various state HHS organizations toinclude policy, process and platforms as a state employee, outside vendor orboth
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and aptitude in some of our keycapabilities (e.g., Program Management Office functions, project oversight andmanagement, applicable industry platforms and technologies, IT general andapplication controls, risk management, information security and informationassurance)
  • Encouragement and facilitation of collaboration among team members andpromoting an inclusive environment
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability tomultitask and adhere to project deadlines
  • Ability to lead certain engagement activities from planning through toexecution
  • Contributions to business development and client pursuit activities bypreparing proposals, marketing presentations for potential clients and thoughtleadership brochures
  • Ability to communicate issues, status and thought leadership to partnersand clients
  • Ability to build impactful relationships with key influencers toeffectively manage work and generate new business opportunities
  • Ability to share leading practices and insights about current industryor subject-matter topics with EY US leaders, proposal teams and clients
  • Ability to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams, includingsupporting people-related initiatives (e.g., recruitment, retention, training,competency development)
  • Ability to develop people through effective leadership, coaching,mentoring and performance assessment of all levels To qualify for the role you must have Abachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis onFinance, Accounting, Engineering or a business-related field and a minimum ofeight years of recent consulting or relevant industry experience (with at leastfour years of recent consulting experience preferred), with the ability to showa significant client impact and results, or a master's degree and six years ofrelevant work experience, and at least six years of experience leading teams onengagements. Knowledgeand experience working for a federal or state agency in the following areas:
    • Project or program centralization or transformation
    • Business operating model assessment or creation
    • Strategic alignment frameworks
    • Resource planning and management
    • Innovation collaboration and management
    • Organizational change management
    • Process improvement
    • Demonstrated ability to develop long-term clientrelationships and a portfolio of new business
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance orhigher is preferred
    • The GPS--practice's staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned tothe office within the metropolitan area for which you have been hired; however,in certain circumstances, travel may be required within and/or beyond yourgeographic region based on client and project needs. For roles within thefederal practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% ispreferred. Within the SLED practice, the flexibility to travel up toapproximately 80% is preferred. The candidate should have experience deliveringservices for project plans on large, complex engagements. Experience withfederal or state agencies, often gained by working in a Big Four global managementconsulting firm or a blue-chip company focused on the government and publicsector, is a plus.
