Sports Management Focus Program Instructor
An academic summer enrichment program for students in grades 8-10
on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY.
EXPLO is seeking enthusiastic, knowledgeable folks to ignite
curiosity in students and to help create an inclusive, safe,
supportive, and fun campus community.
In 1976, an idea took hold in the halls of MIT: a powerful
reimagining of the summer experience for high school students. That
idea became EXPLO, a pioneering and world-class summer enrichment
program where students pursue their interests unconstrained by
grades and tests. The result? A collaborative, transdisciplinary
learning environment, where students drive their own learning
Today, EXPLO is a mission-driven, educational non-profit with more
than 85,000 student alumni who hail from 90 countries. We offer
residential summer programs for students in grades 4 through 12 on
three of the most beautiful college campuses on the East Coast of
For many, EXPLO is a life-changing experience. Our students
sometimes describe it as the place where they feel like the truest
version of themselves. As an organization, we believe learning
should be joyful and create experiences with engagement, inclusion,
and magic as first principles. Each summer we share these
experiences with smart and curious students from all over the
EXPLO is also committed to access and equity. This is why, as a
not-for-profit, we strive to make our summer programs as accessible
for as many curious and motivated young people as we can. EXPLO's
financial aid program provides grant and scholarship support to
families who demonstrate need through the EXPLO Scholarship
Focus Program Instructors foster our students' curiosities and help
them envision where their skills and interests may fit with the
field of Sports Management. They do this, in part, by making
transparent where their own passions, experiences, and knowledge
lie and by teaching our students in an immersive, engaging
Focus Program Instructors work closely with our Instructional
Coaches, our resident experts in non-traditional teaching +
learning techniques. Together, they find imaginative ways of
delivering the Focus Program's planned curriculum within each
session. Focus Program Instructors teach one 15-24 student teaching
section for the full day. This includes delivering the daily lesson
plans, facilitating group work, hosting guest speakers, and
Focus Program Instructors may also play a role in student life
outside of class as Advisors. Advisors care for and supervise
communities of 14-30 students during a session. Advisors are
on-duty every other night and will spend parts of the afternoon and
evening on their residential floor with the members of their
Advisor group. They also deliver student programming, such as daily
events and activities, in the evenings and at night. Finally, Focus
Program Instructors + Advisors may also chaperone student weekend

connect with you.
