Job Description:

Chelsea Piers is seeking a certified Lead Toddler Teacher to take a maternity leave placement at Chelsea Piers Kids Early Learning Center and Preschool. CP Kids is a year round early learning center and preschool. One year minimum contract with the possibility of extending if position is available. Potential candidates must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and must be passionate about early childhood education. Strong classroom management skills required.

Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely and supportively with assistant teachers, parents, and colleagues.
Utilize strong classroom management skills to create a fun, safe, and language-rich classroom environment.
Implement our original curriculum that has a strong foundation in developmentally appropriate practice and meets the developmental needs of all students in the classroom.
Differentiate curriculum to each child and support and challenge all children in an age appropriate manner.
Utilize a strong understanding of toilet training and incorporate it into the school day as well as support families during the process.
Create daily posts for families that incorporate the learning from the day and standards using EDUCA platform. Add in routine information i.e. nap, toileting and meals.

Qualifications
Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
Minimum 3 years teaching experience
Must hold a NYS Department of Education Certification: Birth- Grade 2 (initial or professional)
Masters degree in the field of education preferred
Must possess a working understanding of the New York State Early Learning Guidelines.
Wide knowledge base of early childhood curriculum
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Proficient in technology (i.e. Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
Excellent problem solving skills and calm demeanor
Passionate about working with toddler age children.
Creative, nurturing, and willing to work as part of a team
Able to run, play, and be active with students. Be able to lift up to 40 lbs, help children up the stairs and sit on the floor with students
