Schools Brilla Public Charter Schools is a network of K-8th grade
schools that currently serves nearly 1,600 students from Mott
Haven, University Heights and other neighborhoods in the Bronx. The
network plans to grow from a current four elementary and one middle
school to five elementary and five middle schools educating some
4,000 students in the Bronx and Paterson, NJ. Core to our mission

and spirit and be prepared for excellence in high school, college,
and beyond. Brilla combines a classical approach to education -- an

member and staff.Position OverviewThe ICT Special Education teacher
will co-teach alongside a general education teacher in an inclusion
classroom setting to support all students in the classroom. The ICT
teacher will co-plan and deliver lessons that incorporate multiple
learning modalities, adapt and modify instruction, and create
strategies and meaningful interventions to support students
learning. This position requires a positive, flexible,
solutions-oriented, organized, and innovative educator who aims to
challenge the status quo of the current educational landscape in
urban areas. Brilla teachers must have a deep passion for
student-engaged learning, a desire to accept, implement, and seek
feedback, and a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
and responsibilities, while inspiring outstanding achievement in

ResponsibilitiesProvide students with disabilities Integrated
Co-Teaching services meaning that students with disabilities are
educated with age appropriate peers in the general education
classroom. Provide access to the general education curriculum and
specially designed instruction to meet students individual
needs.Work in partnership with one or more teachers to plan
rigorous classroom lessons to help students meet their
goals.Provide direct support to students in a classroom by
delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of
co-teaching models and strategies.Providing individual or small
group instruction for students who need additional
assistanceContribute to the development of IEPs for students;
maintaining compliance with all Federal Regulations and State
Policies regarding the education of students with
disabilities.Collaborate with general education colleagues to
ensure instruction is differentiated and meets NYS learning
standardsLead classroom differentiation through curricular
modifications, instructional techniques, parallel instruction, and
integrated classroom strategies.Regularly and accurately report
student progress and maintain accurate and up to date records
related to student achievement, performance, and IEP
goals.Establish and maintain ongoing positive relationships with
familiesQualificationsBachelors Degree or higher from an accredited
institutionPossession of current teaching certification as an
elementary school teacherRelevant urban, elementary teaching
experience with demonstrated student results preferredExcellent
verbal and written communication skillsNew York Special Education
