University – Bloomsburg’s Division of Theatre & Dance seeks
applicants for temporary Dance faculty positions (full-time one
semester, part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as
needs arise.The mission of the Division of Theatre and Dance is to
provide a strong undergraduate education in the theory and practice
of theatre and dance, to support the University’s general education
curriculum, and to enhance the cultural life of the campus
community. The division’s goal is to develop students’ working
knowledge and application of historical and contemporary theories
and practices in performance, design and technology, and dramatic

Bloomsburg has been an accredited institutional member of the
National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) since
2008.DutiesBased on the specific needs of the department at the
time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to
teach introductory and/or upper-level courses in dance. Possible
assignments include, but are not limited to, Beginning Jazz/Ballet,
Beginning/Intermediate Modern, Intermediate Ballet or Jazz,
Advanced Ballet, Jazz, or Modern, or other specialty courses in the
area. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of teaching
select classes online and/or in a hybrid manner.The location for
these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a
multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of
Higher Education. At the present time, the Dance program is based
solely at the CU-Bloomsburg CampusQualifying Experience and
Education (Minimum/Preferred)Minimum RequirementsEarned BA degree
AND 15 semester hours of graduate credit in Dance, or related
field(s), from an accredited institution OR equivalent professional
experienceAcademic specialization, prior teaching experience,

ClearancesOffers of employment are conditional, pending successful

order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant
Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania
State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must
be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining
PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be
successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the
