For more information, go to med.nyu.edu, and interact with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Director-EFAA.In conjunction with the Senior Administrator for EFAA, provides leadership and administrative oversight for the office of Faculty Affairs. Manages staffing concerns, collaborates on resource utilization, resolves performance management issues, as well as operational activities. Collaborates with numerous business parters including RED&F, Security, SPBD, Research (OSR, SPA), Finance, Payroll, HR, Budgets and Emergency Planning. Assists in planning and implementing strategic initiatives for Education and Academic Affairs. Works independently to manage new and ongoing projects. Oversees the EFAA budget.Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages Project Coordinator, direct report. Conducts annual performance review including goal setting, staff development and creation of performance improvement plan when needed.
  • Serves as liaison with/for the Senior Administrator with Department Administrators and Institute Directors, OSR and SPBD and represent on NYULMC committees and sub-committees, as needed.
  • Assists with overall Faculty Affairs strategic planning. Collaborates with other Mission Leads on larger initiatives involving FA data (eg, SOM Data Warehouse).
  • Develops institution-wide reports on overall faculty performance (ie tenure lookback, AEC interim reports, 3-year assessments. Manages, designs and prepares metrics and protocols to monitor, analyze and benchmark progress of program and initiatives.
  • Oversees annual review process for faculty including outcomes such as salary reductions, merit program review and associated institution wide reporting and presentations. Is the face of EFAA to all institutes and departments in this process.
  • Provides (oversight/assistance/support) in the design, development, and implementation of web based initiatives (FA website, AEC Tool, APT process). Identifies workflow efficiencies and automation of processes where appropriate. Provides guidance in the redesign of workflows from process design to training and development of end users.
  • Serve as a key liaison between various business partners within the Medical Center and Education, Faculty and Academic Affairs, including HR, Real Estate Development and Facilities and MCIT.
  • Assists Senior Administrator in establishing, implementing and monitoring overall short term and long-term goals for EFAA. Performs the duties of the Senior Administrator in his/her absence.
  • In conjunction with Finance Storefront Manager, oversees annual budget planning, forecasting and management for EFAA
  • Signs off on EFAA Payroll.
  • Other duties as requested.Minimum Qualifications:
    • To qualify you must have a Master's Degree in Health Administration or related field with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in an academic graduate institution or equivalent education and experience.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential to facilitate interactions with diverse internal and external professional groups and committees.
    • Requires strong judgment and excellent people management skills.
    • Requires strong understanding of budgeting and financial management, ability to proficiently use MS office applications and effective problem solving skills to assist in detecting potential issues and issue resolution.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.NYU School of Medicine provides its staff with far more than just a place to work.
