Summary: The Data Solutions & Instrumentation (DSI) team is seeking
a Senior Product Manager II to own and drive significant portions
of instrumentation and measurement across the News & Entertainment
portfolio. This role is responsible for leading the definition,
delivery, and evolution of measurement solutions that enable
analytics, experimentation, content performance insights, and
executive reporting. The Sr Product Manager acts as the primary
product owner for their scope, accountable for outcomes - not just
execution. This role translates business and user needs into clear
measurement strategy, detailed specifications, and hands-on
platform configuration across analytics solutions such as Adobe
Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics, Comscore, and Nielsen.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, QA, Research,
and Business partners, this role ensures high-quality measurement
launches that scale and deliver sustained value. The impact of this
role is both strategic and executional. The Sr Product Manager
raises the organization’s ability to ship reliable measurement,
revitalizes product performance through better insights, and
strengthens instrumentation practices across the News &
Entertainment portfolio. This role is a senior individual
contributor and a recognized product authority within the
instrumentation domain. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Own Instrumentation and Measurement Outcomes: Act as the primary
product owner for defined instrumentation and measurement domains
within the News & Entertainment portfolio, accountable for data
quality, completeness, and usability. Own outcomes related to how
product behavior is measured, validated, and made available for
analytics, experimentation, and reporting. Define Measurement
Strategy and Approach: Drive measurement strategy for assigned
products or initiatives, including defining KPIs, success metrics,
event requirements, and reporting approaches. Anticipate evolving
business and analytics needs and ensure instrumentation supports
both near-term questions and longer-term insight generation.
Translate Business Questions into Data Specifications: Convert
stakeholder questions, reporting needs, and success criteria into
clear, actionable measurement specifications, including events,
parameters, dimensions, metrics, and platform configurations that
scale across platforms and experiences. Execute End-to-End
Instrumentation Delivery: Own the full lifecycle of instrumentation
work, from discovery and requirements through implementation
support, validation, and launch. Orchestrate delivery across
Product Engineering, Data Engineering, QA, and Analytics partners
to ensure accurate and timely measurement enablement. Configure and
Maintain Measurement Platforms: Take a hands-on role configuring
and maintaining analytics and measurement platforms such as Adobe
Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics, Comscore, and Nielsen.
Ensure report suites, views, metrics, dimensions, and dashboards
are set up to support consistent and self-service analysis.
Champion Data Quality, Consistency, and Trust: Proactively identify
data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality risks across first- and
third-party measurement tools. Drive resolution through improved
requirements, validation, platform configuration, and cross-team
coordination to ensure stakeholders can rely on the data. Partner
Closely with Engineering and Analytics: Serve as a close partner to
Product Engineering, Data Engineering, Analytics, and QA teams,
ensuring instrumentation is implemented correctly, validated
rigorously, and aligned with analytics consumption needs. Use Data
to Drive Measurement Improvements: Analyze usage, adoption, and
effectiveness of measurement solutions to identify gaps and
improvement opportunities. Use data and insights to refine
instrumentation approaches and improve reporting value over time.
Improve Instrumentation Practices and Processes: Identify
opportunities to streamline instrumentation workflows, improve
documentation, enhance validation processes, and raise overall
efficiency and consistency of data delivery. Communicate
Measurement Decisions with Clarity: Clearly communicate measurement
strategy, specifications, tradeoffs, and data implications to
technical and non-technical stakeholders. Use data-driven
storytelling to align partners and resolve ambiguity around metrics
and reporting. Provide Domain Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a
subject-matter expert in instrumentation and measurement. Coach
other Product Managers on data-specific product practices,
measurement design, and analytics enablement, raising the overall
bar for data product quality. Drive Measurable Data Impact: Be
accountable for sustained improvements in data accuracy, usability,
and adoption. Ensure instrumentation work delivers tangible value
across analytics, experimentation, content performance measurement,
and business decision-making. Required Education,
Experience/Skills/Training: Basic Qualifications 5 years of
experience in data-focused Product Management, Digital Analytics,
Data Instrumentation, Measurement Strategy, or a closely related
analytics or data platform discipline Demonstrated ownership of
instrumentation, analytics, or measurement solutions, with
accountability for data quality, usability, and business impact
rather than feature delivery alone. Strong product sense
specifically applied to data and measurement domains, including
defining KPIs, success metrics, event strategies, and reporting
approaches in ambiguous environments. Deep understanding of
first-party and third-party measurement ecosystems, including how
instrumentation decisions impact analytics, experimentation,
content performance, and business reporting across web, mobile, and
connected device platforms. Hands-on experience translating
business questions and reporting needs into concrete data
specifications, such as events, parameters, metrics, dimensions,
and schemas. Proven experience configuring and operating enterprise
analytics and measurement platforms such as Adobe Analytics,
Customer Journey Analytics, Comscore, Nielsen, or similar tools.
Strong technical fluency in analytics implementation, including
debugging data issues, validating instrumentation, and ensuring
consistency across environments and platforms. Demonstrated ability
to orchestrate cross-functional execution with Product Engineering,
Data Engineering, Analytics, QA, and Research partners to deliver
accurate and scalable measurement. Working knowledge of SQL and/or
Python for data validation, troubleshooting, or exploratory
analysis related to instrumentation and reporting. Strong
communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts,
measurement tradeoffs, and analytics implications clearly to both
technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience operating
effectively in Agile, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments where
data requirements evolve over time. Bachelor’s Degree required
Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting News, Media, or
content-driven digital products, including content performance,
audience engagement, or editorial analytics use cases. Familiarity
with cloud-based data platforms and pipelines (e.g., AWS,
Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Airflow) and how analytics data flows
from collection to downstream consumption. Strong understanding of
data governance, privacy, and compliance considerations (e.g.,
GDPR, CCPA) as they relate to analytics instrumentation and
measurement design. Experience enabling and scaling self-service
analytics and reporting, including standardized metrics,
dashboards, and reporting frameworks. Demonstrated ability to
improve or standardize instrumentation processes, documentation, or
validation practices across teams or product areas. Advanced degree
in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics,
or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in
data-intensive product roles. The hiring range for this position in
New York, NY is $148,700 to $199,400 per year. The base pay
actually offered will take into account internal equity and also
may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region,
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of
the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical,
financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and
