HVAC Apprentice Job Description We’re a Connecticut-based,

Norbert E. Mitchell Co., Inc. is currently hiring HVAC Apprentices
to support our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for
someone beginning their HVAC career who is interested in learning
about propane heating systems, fuel-based appliances, and energy
efficiency solutions. As an HVAC Apprentice, you will work under
the guidance of licensed HVAC technicians to assist in the
installation and service of propane and HVAC systems. You’ll
receive hands-on training and mentorship as you develop skills in
residential and light commercial heating and cooling, leading to a
G2 Journeyperson license. Key Responsibilities: Assist in
installing and servicing propane equipment and HVAC systems.
Support propane tank installations, regulator setup, gas piping,
and leak testing. Aid in HVAC service: Support propane tank
installations, regulator setup, gas piping, and leak testing.
Maintain safe work practices and follow company safety policies and
propane handling procedures. Transport tools, materials and
equipment to job sites. Document work performed and communicate
with customers and team members in a professional manner.
Participate in company-sponsored training and complete CETP
(Certified Employee Training Program) modules. Follow local, state,
and federal codes, including NFPA, OSHA, and Connecticut building
regulations. Ability to obtain a CDL permit within 90 days.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Strong
interest in HVAC and propane systems. Valid driver’s license and
clean driving record. Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and
work in confined spaces or outdoor conditions. Basic knowledge of
hand and power tools. Mechanically inclined and eager to learn.
Good communication skills and a team-first attitude. Willingness to
learn and take direction.
