L2/L3 Video Support Engineer Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for a L2/L3 Video Support Engineer to work in their Video space. The Video team support services that provide TV-over-the-internet. This is video that customers can watch on their Roku, Apple TV, Android, iOS, etc. A new team has been created to deliver faster, more reliable APIs. Cognizant will not sponsor H-1B or other U.S. work authorization, or lawful permanent residence (otherwise known as a Green Card) for this role. Role: L2/L3 Video Support Engineer Location: NYC, NY Experience: 5 + Tier - 2 Lead Video Support Engineer Responsibilities Include: * Taking ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution for OTT platforms deployed by a major media company * Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve complex video platform and delivery issues, within agreed time limits * Act a Subject Matter Expert to assist other members of the team to solve video platform and delivery issues * Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams * Work on automation to improve the efficiency of the support team including chatbots, Network monitoring and video quality monitoring systems * Lead the effort to incorporate support for new video product lines by working with product and engineering teams We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to provide video delivery support to our customers. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and video delivery problems (OTT applications) and help our customers. Technical Support Engineer responsibilities include resolving network issues, video streaming issues, configuring video platforms to provide immediate support. You will use email and chat applications to give clients quick answers to video related issues. Responsibilities * Application and content support for Web applications. * Crash and content support for iOS, Android and Connected device applications * Debug production outages. * Support for Live events. * CMS support. * Ad hoc service requests. o Operational change management. o Video player configuration support. o Support for video and advertising delivery. o Support for video transcoding and orchestration services. o Feed delivery support. o Application configuration management. o Application problem management. o Knowledge management. * Develop/Improve SMOPs * Participate in hand-off calls at the end of the shift * Talk clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until they've solved a technical issue * Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers) * Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers * Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions * Ensure all issues are properly logged * Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time * Prepare accurate and timely reports * Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals 0 % Technical Skills SNo Primary Skill Proficiency Level * Rqrd./Dsrd. 1 Video Monitoring tools PL4 Required 2 Video End points PL4 Required 3 Core Java PL3 Required * Proficiency Legends Proficiency Level Generic Reference PL1 The associate has basic awareness and comprehension of the skill and is in the process of acquiring this skill through various channels.
