Our projects range from heavy industrial to advanced renewables requiring complex engineering and design solutions. About the PositionThe Project Engineer will lead all phases of multi-discipline teams in engineering projects, from conception through start-up and delivery. This position may also work on more complex full-delivery engineering, procurement, and construction projects.
Technical Knowledge

  • Overall technical lead engineer and design coordinator on a project, responsible for the technical content of all work packages issued
  • Manage the interface and coordination between the engineering & design disciplines
  • Work with disciplines in 3-D environment to ensure geographic spacing and eliminate clashes
  • Ensure that design safety is incorporated in the life of the project
  • Ensure that key documents such as P&IDs, plot plans, and single line diagrams accurately reflect the project Scope of Work and convey the required information to the design disciplines
  • Assumes responsibility of the P&IDs and related Process Documents such as Change Logs, Line Lists, etc. at the onset of detailed design
  • Ensures that the Project drawing production is in accordance with the client and/or Allied standards for graphic presentation and consistency
  • Capable of establishing a 3D Model approach and plan
  • Working knowledge of several types of equipment including mechanical & electrical equipment to oversee our discipline engineers in the specification & supply
  • Working knowledge of various types of vendor documentation to coordinate with both the requisitioning engineer and supplier
  • Approves all design documents prior to formal issue. Ensures Issued for Construction (IFC) packages are quality checked and aligned with the construction work packages in content
    Qualifications
    • Minimum seven 7 years' experience in a refinery or chemical environment
    • BS degree in Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
    • Some knowledge of the industry design standards and codes such as AMSE, ANSI, API, and similar
    • Demonstrated experience with engineering duties on multiple simultaneous small to medium-sized capital projects
    • Demonstrated collaborative work experience working with multi-discipline teams
    • Experience in medium to heavy industry including refinery/chemical/renewable energy
    • Experience with scoping out projects, troubleshooting plant problems and issues, interfacing with other engineering personnel, contract engineering companies, construction, operations, reliability, maintenance, and environmental groups
    • Demonstrated experience with executing projects utilizing 3D technology including facilitating value-adding model reviews
      Non-Technical Skills
      • Ability to plan, develop and coordinate a large project or several small projects
      • Ability to supervise the work of others
      • Fundamental understanding of the disciplines and their interface points
      • Conducts project coordination meetings with the project team
