States of AmericaWHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGThe Sr. Director of
Architecture & Engineering leads strategic focus on Santander North
America Infrastructure agility, innovation, customer focus and risk
management while supporting a methodical shift toward private
cloud, infrastructure optimization and a product-oriented
technology delivery model.This position contributes towards the
strategic vision of the organization and integrates a broad range
of ideas regarding infrastructure automation for Santander. This
role is recognized across the organization for technical and
business expertise as a resource for resolving the most complex
problems by influencing and motivating team members and
stakeholders. This incumbent provides leadership on complex
infrastructure projects involving multiple disciplines by
interacting, influencing and presenting to stakeholders, peers and
senior management. S/he creates a work environment that enables
team members to be their best and deliver on their
accountabilities.Responsibilities:
- Enable automation across value streams to achieve tangible
results
- Drive operational efficiency via standardization and automation
of processes, tools, and patterns
- Develop technical road map that embraces technology innovation
and delivers solutions that enable and accelerate the
business.
- Establish a clear path to progression
- Accountable for IT Infrastructure Engineering to ensure all
systems are designed and implemented following Santander US'
standards, industry best practices and regulatory requirements
(security, resilience, scalability, efficiency, etc)
- Accountable for team performance, including hire, training and
let go functions.
- Conducts product research keeping current on technical
directions and how to best apply them to business objectives.
- Ensures alignment of Infrastructure Engineering team resources
and Santander US Organization for optimal delivery.
- Ensures that security and regulatory requirements (security,
resilience, scalability, efficiency, etc..) are implemented and
enforced.
- Guides and supports the Infrastructure Engineering team to
achieve performance targets and objectives.
- Maintain focus on regulatory compliance and operational
resilience
- Identifies and manages service improvements to increase
customer satisfaction
- Manages 7x24 Support of mission critical infrastructure systems
in collaboration with incident and problem management teams, to
ensure availability and other SLAs are meet.
- Manages capital and expense expenditures to plan and manages
expense budget activities and timelines to department and corporate
guidelines, while maintaining solid fiscal responsibility., Manages
relationships with our Infrastructure Engineering service
providers, monitoring and enforcing SLAs of our service providers,
and managing the financial activities associated with the service
providers.
- Manages systems evolution roadmap, creating and executing plans
for transformation with continuous application availability to meet
the growth and objective of the business
- Sets the short-term & long-term departmental goals and
objectives for the team to support the business and IT mission,
strategy, and processes.
- Translates business requirements into a strategic view that
drives technology change.
- Works with appropriate delivery managers to ensure the
resources are available and committed to deliver the
work.Qualifications:EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree; in Computer Science/Software Engineering or
equivalent field.
- Master's Degree; in Computer Science/Software Engineering or
equivalent field.,or equivalent work experienceWORK EXPERIENCE:
- 12-15 years; Experience managing, growing, and mentoring a team
of engineers and managers.
- Experience managing teams to deploy infrastructure as code to
public (AWS, Azure, etc.) and private clouds.
- Experience working with configuration management tools.
- Experienced in managing data center technologies related to
server, network and storage.
- Knowledge & Understanding of compliance and regulatory
frameworks (ie FFIEC).
- Successfully implementation of transformational programs in the
finance sector.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

domain (Networking, Systems, Storage, Middleware, Databases),
Project management skills
