Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Underground Distribution Engineer to
serve as technical lead for engineering and design projects under a
strategic underground program in California.
Our team works on a variety of energy efficiency, resilience, and
decarbonization initiatives for municipal, utility, and commercial
and industrial clients. This position will perform technical tasks
on a variety of projects including energy efficiency, distributed
generation, renewable energy, energy master planning, district
energy systems, net-zero buildings, monitoring base commissioning,
grid-interactive buildings, and building decarbonization.
The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed
individual with an excellent understanding of medium voltage
underground utility distribution design and construction.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be
limited to, the following:
Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for
staff's specific area of expertise.
Performs calculations and develops technical specifications from
feasibility to detail design packages
Facilitates design reviews with internal and external clients
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
Provides estimates for the engineering task, budget and
schedule
Applies strong knowledge of utility standards, guides,
specifications, and procedures specific to working in
California
Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in
all aspects of design work
DCS-Energy

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree from an ABET
accredited program.
8 years of relevant experience, including medium voltage
underground utility distribution design and construction
Demonstrated experience with California utilities
Professional Engineer (PE)
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree preferred
Consulting experience preferred
Experience on large, multi-discipline projects and programs
Proficiency in engineering analysis and modeling software
Fluency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft
Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
MicroStation experience/proficiency

Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on
individual education, qualifications, experience, and work
location. The salary range for this position is $133,500.43 -
$246,975.79 annually exempt. AECOM is proud to offer a
