Preferred home location located near major airline hub located in New York City, Long Island, NY, New Jersey or Connecticut.Reports to the Natural and Organic Distributor Sales DirectorJob FunctionThe purpose of this job is to sell and manage all functions at your assigned accounts to achieve our Post Consumer Brandssales, volume, profit and ROIC goals.As part of the N&O team, the Natural and Organic Senior Account Manager will play a key role in the channel growth as well as distributor account management. (Distributors are the main supply chain to the Natural/Organic Channel and play a critical role in PCB's growth). The Senior Account Manager is responsible for the direct UNFI Distributor Headquarter calls and indirect retailer relationships in the North- Atlantic region.Responsible for increasing sales activities by growing the business to meet and exceed budgeted sales goals, lead efforts in category management at retail with item assortment and will assist in meeting trade budgets and profitability goals for our assigned businesses. Within this role, it is essential to collaborate extensively with our N&O Distributor Sales Director and engage with the entire N&O team as distributor changes impact all accounts that pull from them. It is vital that the candidate possess sufficient and relevant experience to be a confident, collaborative and respectful voice within the team to create a solution based approach with a high caliber teamMajor Job ActivitiesDevelop and maintain UNFI and other regional distributor retail business plus several major retail group relationships and address complex customer questions/problems as they arise, to ensure continued participation in Post Consumer Brands programs and sustain/increase sales. Focused on customers with high-value, strategic growth opportunities within the North-Atlantic region, including the states of NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI, NH, VT, ME, PA, VA, WV, MD and DEEducate retailers to build your relationship in order to drive distribution, merchandising and sales goals.Sell & Execute all Three Sistersprograms (Promotional Sales plans, New Items, available Shopper Marketing programs, etc.) to the Indirect Distributor retailers within the South region, ormodify/re-design programs to meet account requirements, for permanent and temporary space.Coordinate work and provide support to Broker Retail Services team partners and a handful of internal cross-functional teams to implement specific account schematics for permanent space, obtain temporary space for promotions, and ensure that store merchandising maximizes quality-merchandising opportunities within the marketplace.Proactively manage Three Sisters Trade planning calendar for accounts, including adjusting calendar to meet accountmerchandising and timing requirements.Manage promotional account creation and process (insure plans and contracts are approved and submitted into TPSprior to performance), authorize performance payments, and resolve deduction issues in timely manner.Develop retailer execution plans for product assortment within your designated geography against approved distributor calendar plans. Manage proper execution of all promotional activities at store level - including, but not limited to: communication with retailer management, securing & executing displays, planogram and placement of point of sale materialAudit your existing markets, target new retailers /key accounts for natural and organic development within regional geographyAttend and develop new opportunities, including national, regional, distributor and retailer trade showsAbility to identify, collaborate and create solutions to resolve retailer issues within appropriate department of the PCB team: including Accounting, Credit, Sales Support and Development, Customer Solutions, Marketing, Business and Trade Solutions, Supply Chain and Logistics (transportation, warehousing).Report to N&O Distributor Director to ensure the predictability and visibility of pipeline, opportunity and most importantly closing to ensure deal visibility and accountability at key points in the forecasting - sales - trade cycle.Be an effective business communicator and writer. You need to be able to send compelling e-mail communications to retailers: New Items, Promotional Opportunities, Data Analysis and Assortment RecommendationsAbility to talk with conviction and effectiveness on the phone and leave compelling voice messages with Distributor, Retailer and Broker partners.Job RequirementsEducation: 4-year college degreeExperience: Minimum of 5 years Corporate and Home Office, Account Management experience in CPG. Natural Foods Industry Experience is highly desired.Travel: 40% to 50%Individual must be able to analyze and interpret SPINS, Distributor Data and Nielsen reports generated by their Category Management Manager and Sales Support. Have the ability to draw conclusions from the data and make fact-based decisions and retailer plans that benefit both the Retailers Category and Three Sisters Brands.Must have trade management within a live accrual experience and has worked in proprietary sales forecasting and budget tracking systems. Experience with Accenture's CAS product is preferred.Skills: team player; solution based selling skills; self-driven; effective interpersonal skills to build and maintain work relationships; effective in spoken and written communications, including ability to prepare & present in person & virtual sales presentations; data driven reporting and communication; ability to identify and solve complex customer problems; self-management skills (set own priorities, plan/organize work, time management, follow through discipline, product results), and creative ability to generate ideas/concepts to increase sales, comfort around higher management.
