Manager Organizational Change Management The Manager, Organizational Change Management is a multifaceted role that interfaces with various stakeholders across IT and the lines of business. This position is responsible for embedding organizational change management practices in the organization's projects, structured work efforts, and IT and business strategy to achieve the desired business outcomes. This position also supports the development of the IT Strategy with IT executive and senior management and maintain IT?s roadmap to support IT and business objectives. This role is responsible for leading, directing, coordinating and providing visibility into the organization's organizational change management and IT strategic efforts. The candidate needs to have significant experience in creating change management and IT strategies that maximize employee adoption, business benefit, and IT resiliency. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -- Employ a structured change management methodology to create conditions for a smooth transition to change and promote maximum enthusiasm to adapt to the change. -- Prepare for change by assessing the magnitude of change and the organization's change readiness, including resource availability. -- Conduct thorough methodological investigations to identify key stakeholders impacted by the change. Support stakeholder?s needs as required to maximize change acceptance and effectivity. -- Oversee awareness planning to ensure all affected team members and stakeholders are fully aware of the impending changes. -- Promote the business vision with a benefit framework that links adoption to change to successful project delivery and business outcome. -- Create tailored change management plans with respect to ?ADKAR? requirements to accommodate the needs of different stakeholder groups impacted by the change. -- Identify "landmines" and potential points of resistance, and develop counterstrategies to mitigate or minimize potential resistance. -- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring around good change management practices to senior leadership and project managers to increase their effectiveness in driving sustainable change. -- Solicit feedback to assess the success of the change management activities and behavior changes to effectively reinforce any implemented changes. -- Lead the establishment of a network of change agents where appropriate, and leverage trusted informal leaders to create understanding among employees and influence successful organizational change. -- With IT executive and senior management, help coordinate and support the development and socialization of the IT Strategy. -- Consider/suggest updates to IT strategic plans and seek input from various leaders inside and outside of IT to gain insight from various points of view and the current internal and external environments. -- Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies that IT and the Business must consider to remain relevant, efficient, and innovative. -- Support Technology Steering Committee, developing agenda and content, timely topics, and overall maturation of the committee and its purpose. -- This position may have supervisory responsibilities. Given that the position may manage a small team, the candidate should direct the work of and oversee development of team member(s). Foster professional growth and specialization, and mature the team?s capabilities. KEY BEHAVIORS & COMPETENCIES Competency Key Behaviors Change Advocate -- Demonstrates personal commitment to change through actions and words -- Acts as the organization's change agent for implementing change management practices and driving change in support of business/agency goals and strategy -- Mobilizes others ? top executives, middle managers and employees ? to support and enable change efforts Influencing Others -- Communicates ideas or positions in a persuasive manner that builds support, agreement or commitment for change -- Takes actions that directly or indirectly influence others to create buy-in, gain trust and motivate actions in others, or win concessions without damaging relationships -- Ability to facilitate win-win solutions when conflicts emerge Business Acumen and Enterprise Knowledge -- Solicits information on enterprise direction, goals and strategy to determine how the change management activities can add value to the organization and to customer satisfaction -- Makes decisions and recommendations clearly linked to the organization's strategy and financial goals to design the organization and people transition through change Results Orientation -- Sets and accomplishes challenging goals -- Defines standards in terms of doing what is appropriate and doing it well -- Competes resourcefully, and takes calculated risks to achieve results Strategic Technology Planning -- Develops change plans that meet the architecture/technology needs of the organization -- Incorporates business priorities, strategies, goals, emerging technologies, industry trends and economic viability Strategic Thinking -- Examines issues, and creates change plans with a long-term perspective -- Generates ideas and critically evaluates future scenarios -- Applies external and internal factors to strategy development -- Considers long-term strategic impact when making decisions or in setting direction -- Ensures that short-term goals support long-term strategy QUALIFICATIONS -- Bachelor's in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience. Organizational development, project management, change management, change leadership training and/or certification is highly desirable. -- Good working knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies and project life cycles highly desirable. -- ITIL knowledge and certification preferred. EXPERIENCE -- Minimum of five years? experience in a Change Management or Communications role, particularly as it relates to Information Technology change and strategy -- 5-10 years experience working in or closely with Information Technology teams -- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft and Adobe products -- Excellent verbal communications and collaboration skills
