Away is seeking a thoughtful, experienced, and dynamic retail stores leader to drive strategy and execution for our growing number of brick-and-mortar Away stores. The role is responsible for the successful achievements of Away's retail business in North America and in the UK - P&L accountability. In addition, developing and leading key initiatives and divisional goals that will include demonstrating a mastery of our brand and business model and the effective management of both direct and dotted line responsibility for functional areas and people. The role will lead and continue to build out our retail ops team while driving iteration and improvement to our operational systems and processes, empowering our store teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Act as functional lead working with Ecomm, CX, and International market leaders on advancing our DTC omnichannel strategy. In this role, you'll utilize your strategic mindset but also jump in with hands-on support, proactively defining this functional discipline for the company to scale.. This role will report to our President of International and Retail and will have a massive impact on our overall customer journey. REQUIREMENTS

What you'll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a results-oriented retail team, responsible for full store P&L, maintaining and growing revenue, margin and ebitda; oversee brand channel strategy and store product merchandising
  • Manage daily retail operations while constantly iterating on strategies, tools, and processes that will help us create exceptional in-store experiences
  • Oversee all relevant systems and tools, from labor scheduling and workforce management to point-of-sale reporting
  • Set store-level budgets (including payroll allocation) and optimize store processes to drive profitability levels at each store as well as determining expense reductions when necessary
  • Partner with the Retail Expansion team, as well as other company cross functional leaders, to take part in the planning process for new store openings globally
  • Ensure alignment with Ecomm, CX, and International business leaders to create an overarching brand DTC approach while collaborating on accelerating path towards omni experience for customer
  • Empower and motivate team to participate in achieving mutual goals and objectives to contribute to making the business successful. Build strong relationships and regularly gain feedback and insights to improve our in-store community experience
  • Focus on product and instore initiatives that delight the customer - including marketing/events/visual merchandising
  • Create and maintain all policies, procedures, and any relevant field documents Who you are:
    • You have 10+ years of leadership experience in a premium or luxury retail environment. Strong retail management experience with multi-site oversight (multi geography and plus)
    • You're a people person. You pride yourself on being able to build relationships and earn trust across all levels of an organization with a track record of building high-performing and highly engaged teams. You are a strategic thinker and problem solver
    • Achieve business measurements; traffic, conversion, UPT, sales vs plan, gross margin, etc
    • You care about results. You're able to measure success and report on what's working and what's not so we can iterate and improve on a regular basis.
    • Develop growth strategy through by store product assortment strategies, current and new store growth, sales initiatives etc.
    • You're curious and willing to challenge existing processes in the spirit of constant improvement
    • You're highly motivated and ready to work in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
    • You have strong collaboration and communication skills at all levels of the organization
