The Role: Morning Consult is looking for a digital marketing leader to manage our external prospecting funnel, including the relationship with our external PPC agency, the annual media spend budget and the creative campaign process to drive conversions throughout the funnel and sales process. The Director of Digital Marketing will lead the strategic direction of our campaigns, including tracking and reporting. This position will work closely with our Creative teams to design compelling campaigns and collaborate with our PPC agency to identify relevant prospecting audiences and segments, retargeting opportunities, and downstream sales assets. A successful candidate will have the experience and skills to work independently to bring their ideas and innovations to life via a fully collaborative style and be part of the holistic strategy the Marketing Team is working to build together. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Own the relationship with our PPC agency who is managing our spend and running the day-to- day optimizations of our PPC campaigns
  • Manage the performance metrics of our paid media program, liaising with the agency for all creative needs (ad refreshes, new offers, improving automated marketing workflows, etc.), and working to bring on new channels and audiences
  • Partner with internal content and marketing teams to deliver effective content for digital demand generation programs, supporting each stage of the buyer journey for targeted personas
  • Partner with the Creative Team to request all creative needed, and manage the process, schedules, and requirements
  • Measure and analyze performance across all external channels, creative, offers, and audiences
  • Partner with the marketing team to track effectiveness and conversion metrics all the way through the sales cycle to closed deals
  • Implement and continually test new creative messaging, landing pages, campaigns, and tools
  • Drive rapid but well-structured campaign testing designed to validate the potential of digital channels and audiences
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points Desired Skills: Note: we view this section as a guide, not a checklist. We encourage you to apply even if you don't satisfy every single bullet on this list!
    • 5+ years of relevant marketing experience
    • Experience with all major ad platforms including Facebook, Google Ads, and LinkedIn so you can successfully manage our PPC agency relationship
    • Experience with direct response / digital marketing creative - knowing what works and why
    • Able to drive creative test ideas based on your knowledge of marketing and the platforms on which were running
    • Experience with automated marketing systems and triggered workflows
    • Bold and creative thinker with a relentless drive to beat the control
    • Experience and skills with Google Analytics and Marketo, Salesforce, tracking and monitoring spend, CPA/CPL, attribution, and campaign metrics
    • Proven track record of successful online marketing campaigns and experiments - owning campaign performance and adjusting tactics to meet goals and budgets
